I think you shouldn't blame it to live with the poor in-laws. I am sure they will have been very helpful when you needed them to attend to the children for any eventuality. I think the fault is that if we organize and set rules, the kids should do what they have to do (study in this case) and then, if time permits, any other activity.

@margomyrrh I like your answer, what I wrote before is because I know of people who don't value the positive part of living with in-laws. Although I am clear that it is not easy, I lived it. LOL. (Please excuse me, I didn't answer you before, I explain it to you in my discussion "Can you imagine feeling like a dog with a chain and a muzzle?") check it please.

I think its totally fine if they don't take exams pressure as they are still quite young to have a responsible role and testing. Its good though that you care about your children. I hope they do score well

Third grade - doesn't that mean quite young? So why are they doing exams? Surely children should be allowed to be children and not have exam pressures put on them.

yeah, we kinda use to it in our country, schools here give quizzes, summative test, quarterly exams/periodical exams, projects etc.even preschools have tests.. How about in your country? what does they do in school?

That's too bad they have exams in August. We don't start up until two weeks from now and certainly will not start with exams... that will come later. Are you in the middle of your school year now?
