Chinese Take Out Order Screw Up

Can you guess who made the boo-boo? Yep, you are right, the hubby did it. I asked him to stop and pick up Chinese food on the way home for dinner last night and told him specifically what to order.
He gets home with some extra stuff and hands me the receipt. It's $30.00. Mind you, the bill is usually only $16 max and that has enough food for a second meal the following day.
I am still not sure what exactly he did or ordered. We got all of the food we normally order and then some. We had an extra order of roasted pork fried rice in XL size and that was the only difference in extra food. The combination special he did not order because he asked for a lunch special which was over during the evening hours. I'm sure that one amounted for an extra $5.00 as did the extra fried rice.
To solve this problem in the future, I took the menu out of my car and I'm putting it in his truck tonight. Problem solved. (Or should be...geesh.) And guess what's for dinner again tonight? You guessed it, Chinese food.

I love Chinese food. There is a wonderful Chinese buffet right down the road from where I live, and I eat there frequently. I love that it is all-u-can-eat. I guess I eat there too much, because all the Chinese girls that work there seem to know me by name now. haha

@moffittjc She was four at the time and would bring a book over and ask me to read it to her. She was always showing us her toys. Poor kid was probably bored to tears there all day and night.

Okay, how about this, maybe it was not a mistake BUT instead he knew you would not have to cook tonight too Now you know why I always handle all the money, so there will be some left.

@LadyDuck Yes, they did. He said she kept repeating something and he could not understand her. They are normally very nice to repeat customers, but then again he rarely goes there. Now the Chinese place near our home in LA, superior customer service. They give you more food, extras like gravy/sauce for entrees, etc. and remember all your preferences for your next order.

Incidentally we opted for Chinese food last night as well. Not sure how he did it, but I guess all is still well if you have plenty of food to eat. Our bill was $54. But that's pretty typical for us when we order Chinese. I had mine delivered.

Nobody delivers way out here in the country. We only have two food places that are chains in town, El Dorado and Subway and two local fast foods places. Not much to choose from. The Chinese comes from a small town he passes through in Louisiana on his way home.

Oh yikes, something like that would have bugged me. I hate when the bill is more than I anticipated.

@LindaOHio I gave him the menu tonight for this place and he said, "What do I need that for?" LOL. I said so you can place an order next time and not screw it up. I highlighted what we normally get and as for the dinner it is served until 10:30 pm. They don't serve lunch specials at night. It's the same thing only $2 more. Geesh. Not hard to understand. This is the second time he has come home with apx. $30 of Chinese food. I like it but not in such volumes.

@kareng Yeah, it's OK for a couple of nights; but you don't want to eat it all week!

Once a foreign friend came to China and said he would eat all the delicious food in China in one year. As a result, three years passed, he did not even go out of sichuan province.
