Baked Sweet Potato Cinnamon and Sugar Dinner

Dinner will be light again tonight. Baked sweet potato. I have added butter, cinnamon and sugar. Sometimes I will sprinkle pecan pieces on top as well.
You can mix your own cinnamon and sugar together in a dispenser or you can buy it already mixed. This combination is also great for cinnamon toast with butter.
Sounds like not much of a meal to many of you probably, but I love this kind of light dinner during the summer.

i love sweet taters, though without the sugar 'n cinnamon, lol. seems a fine meal to me. we usually eat light suppers here, too.

@CarolDM i like candied carrots durin' the holidays, but've ne'er been able to eat the sweet taters that way?? not fer certain 's to why, lol. 'tis been some time since i've gotten sweet taters. the last'uns the hubs's gotten from the grocery store've been beautiful outside 'n a squishy mess 'nside??? not fer certain what'd be the troubles there. i think next year i might jest plant me some.

@crazyhorseladycx Planting fresh ones is always the best. But I buy the ones for the microwave to bake. When I make casseroles I buy the candied yams.

I have never tried sweet potatoes, but I have trouble trying new foods since I am a picky eater. Glad you enjoyed this meal!

@CarolDM A lot of the time for me it is the texture of certain foods....but I have heard of them being healthy (although the carbs would still be too high for my diet)

MrsJ loves baked sweet potato with lots and lots of butter. I've never tasted it, myself, though.

@CarolDM MrsJ says sweet potatoes are sweet enough without adding sugar. She's a bit irritating that way.

I love a sweet potato with all that stuff on it! Haven't tried the pecans, but my daughter always puts them on her sweet potato casserole at Christmas and I eat it for dessert!

I love sweet potatoes and we've been cooking them in the air fryer. They come out sooooo good! Your sweet potato looks delicious with your cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top.
Yesterday I added some cinnamon and sugar to a waffle and it almost tasted like a churro

@CarolDMT I caught that. I meant that I like pecans on them, just as you do.
I thought my sweet potato treat was kind of unique, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone else enjoys them the way I do.

I've had them at Texas Roadhouse. My husband gets his loaded. Yechh. (butter, brown sugar, marshmallows, cinnamon)
