How should I solicit more YouTube followers?

As many of you know, I like to perfom music, and I like to post music videos to YouTube.
But I've hit a wall of about 80 "followers" on YouTube, and I don't know to break through that wall. I'm just a solid "local musician," but I think I have something to say.
What would you suggest as my "next step"? Should I write an "odd" original tune? Should I cover another "famous" tune, like Townes Van Zandt's "Pancho and Lefty"?
Should I do a pretty "guitar only" piece?
I'll attach my first tune, posted by Vanny of YouTube fame, and hope that you listen to it, like it, and become a subscriber. It's an original, and I like it. But I never perform it.
I was working on some cool songs while I was in Montana. But I still feel like I need a "new drug."

@TheHorse That's the case with me too. But it seems that people use these platforms to market themselves.

The best thing would be to keep a variety so that it reaches to different people. Social media is the best to promote yourself.

@TheHorse I have seen people using Facebook and Instagram for their promotion. I am not active on either of the two. Maybe Pinterest can also be used. You have to explore it. I too am not so comfortable with social media.

Create a song or you can just sing someone else's song with your characteristic voice that may attract more people.

people mostly attract from social sites so if you using it then you can share there. I have some friends who post stuff on YouTube but they keep asking people to follow me follow me and like that they reach 1000 lol. As you share many places more chances for followers.

I still like this song. Ever since they went to the 1000 subscriber thing to make money I stopped posting, but I have a TON of stuff I could share, both covers and originals. I don't know how you increase the subscriber base. I wish I knew. I am stuck as well. Do a cover of my Pink Flamingoes song. I'd love to see what you might do to it.
This song was recorded in October of 2002 and is the title song of my new LP "Pink Flamingoes," misspelled on purpose. Since introducing this song to Jango Radio it has been my number one song. Though

@Janet357 This one has the most views. But it's not necessarily my favorite.

On some microjob sites or earning sites, you can avail their offer to have more followers on YT but of course one will need to pay... You can also ask your friends to follow you and help you spread your YT page... It is really hard to gain followers nowadays because almost everyone wanted their page to be popular...

@simplfred Yeppers. I think I already have my friends on my side. Many of the comments I see are from people I know. I am glad that some are from strangers, though.

@TheHorse I agree... I won't either better to have 20 honest followers than 20,000 being paid.
