Banana pudding has always been an all time favorite in my life. It may be more of a southern dessert but it is delicious. Yesterday at the $5.00 buffet I keep talking about, the dessert was Chocolate Vanilla Wafer Pudding.
I did a double take at first. I thought it was chocolate banana pudding. I asked the lady and she told me it is made just like banana pudding but with cocoa. And no bananas of course.
Had to try it out. I got a small bowl. Oh my gosh. It was one of the best desserts I have ever had.
She gave me their recipe, as she always does if I ask. Everything they cook is homemade. This dessert is just like homemade banana pudding but with cocoa.
Snapped photo at restaurant yesterday.
Have you tried this dessert before?

That dessert looks so elegant and yummy! Meringue on top of pudding, I've never tried that before.

@CarolDM I've had banana cream pie(similar) with meringue. And lemon meringue pie, of course.

It looks good. I have not tried it. Waaaaaay back when schools could serve desserts they used to use a regular pie crust, dark chocolate homemade pudding topped with meringue. I had to get used to it as it was not overly sweet. It was yummy, though.

Looks something special, yummy and nice. But I need to curb my tendency to eat more of the sweet things, especially during the festival season.

@CarolDM it is a big thing in Indiana. My absolute worst for me, but always get it when I get it is the variation that is Carmel, wafers, chocolate, whipped cream, then wafers, caramel, wafers chocolate and finally whipped cream
