What happened to our hot weather? Has it cooled off where you live?

I was enjoying swimming, and getting my girlish figure back, but the weather turned cool here about three days ago, and I haven't been in the pool since Friday or so. It's not cold--we're still hitting the 70s during the day--but it's not quite swimming weather. Have things cooled off a bit where you live? Or have they warmed up a bit if you're "down under"? It's supposed to hit about 78 F today. We'll see if that's warm enough for some pool action. The 90s are supposed to return later in the week.

I played a music gig in 111 F heat in Chico the other day. We were sticking to our instruments.

The days are warming up nicely but the nights are still pretty cold. We'll be lighting our fire for a while yet I think.

@JudyEv That looks a lot like what I have in my main room at the cabin.

@TheHorse Here, it's called a tile fire. We've had open fire-places so this is a bit similar but of course much safer.

98 with a 106 feels like heat index, toss in humidity and you have August in Alabama.

Yep, I'd be looking for a pool or late (preferably a lake without brain-eating bacteria in it).

@andriaperry Heh. I hear about it in the news now and again, but I'm not sure where it exists.

@NJChicaa My bike is still in my truck (SUV, actually) from my trip to Montana. I should retrieve it and go for a ride before it heats up here.

@Spontaneo Swimming is good exercise for me. I suffer from chronic lower back pain, but I don't feel it when I'm in the water.

@TheHorse The water in my pool was like bath water yesterday. But then, it's only 3' across and 6" deep.

Went to the pool but read and didn't jump in. The water was to cold for such a cool day. The Horse Jr. came out there with homework, so we worked on that.

From May till August is rainy season here and it's when the temperature drops and we get too many typhoons. So it rains most of the time and swimming is just out of season.

@Tampa_girl7 Any particular reason you didn't open it up? Are the folks young enough to enjoy sitting around the pool?

Yes, here it is Sept. 4, almost half a month after you posted this, and it's finally getting cooler. Today somebody said the word "fall". Hopefully it will stay. Sometimes we have hot summer weather all through September.

I saw a lot of very pink faces today at the preschool. And that includes our Latino and "black" kids. I may go swimming this evening. But I can feel a tiny bit of Fall air in the mornings.
