This is the first time I took pictures of it since they swim around my aquarium pretty fast. He looks like he’s resting on the leaf of my plants. They are responsible for getting rid of algae colonies in my aquarium. They said that it won’t grow big anymore like the normal shrimps we eat so they are really for pets only.

What happened to your aquarium? You said before it's a fish aquarium? Now shrimps are in it.

@crazyhorseladycx It's not to worry it's still manageable and will help me discard algae on my tank.

@almostoveryou if you are going to have it you should have a planted aquarium because they love to stay on plants. You should study and learn first how plants grow healthy before introducing them in your aquarium. BTW if you are planning to get apple snail or the golden snail they usually are voracious eaters that your plants will be eaten by them. They are considered as pest in aquariums.

oh, it's really blue! so you finally caught it on camera! hahaha!
if you put wings on it, it could be a dragonfly! hahaha!
i didn't know they could be beneficial to aquariums. that's great!

Yeah they do look like they are dragonfly larvae but they are really shrimp they’re just smaller and more colorful than the regular ones. There are red, white and yellow varieties of this shrimp. I just got attracted to this one since it’s my first time to see them.

Yeah I want to get some more but they are a bit pricey for me and I prefer fish over them. They just stay hidden most of the time doing their thing. They help break down some debris on the tank and eat some algae along the way. I will need a lot of them to really make the aquarium clean of algae.
