It seems spring has sprung in Donnybrook, Western Australia

Sorry, but I had to share this. The roos started moving in around the house when I first got up. One had a tiny head protruding from its pouch. The roo on the left is on the steps at the front of the house, the flagpole is on the right. While I was checking out the roos, over near a patch of timber, I saw a tiny joey out practising his hops. He was some distance away and all the photos were too blurred to use except for this last one where I caught him in a patch of sunlight. I’m sorry it’s so blurry but isn’t he tiny? He stayed out for perhaps five minutes but has now gone back to bed. He is really pale in colour but I guess he’ll darken in time. It seems spring has sprung.

They are so scrawny and small when they first come out of the pouch. Look at this tiny little face.

Hopefully I'll get more chances now as more and more joeys appear. You have to be quick to snap them though.

@kareng True. I take dozens of bird shots for about one good one in ten shots.

Nice pictures though it is kind of blurred. So Kangaroos are a common sight in your place. I just realized that your climate there is the opposite from where I am. When its hot over there its colder in my place and vice versa.

@rsa101 You can't get very close to them. There are a couple that are getting a little bit tame but you still can't touch them.

It's very blurred but it was the best of about six. It was too far away really but I wanted to get a photo of the tiny joey.

I took about ten to get this one. If I zoomed up to the maximum the photos were too blurred to use. This was zoomed a little then cropped a little but it's still very blurred. It's hard to get good photos of them 'on the hop'.

@JudyEv Yours are coming up and we will be in winter. I am envious but we still have nice weather but it will go in about November or December and then the layers and rain comes hopefully.

They're so cute! I love kangaroos! That's so amazing that you have them so close to home. When I glanced at it at first, I thought they were deer, but roos... Even though it may be a little blurry, love the pic.

They are probably enjoying the bounty the rain has brought. Good Times! The deer here that I have seen now have their fall coats on..they turn dark in the fall and winter.

I don't know if kangaroos lose their coats or not. I think not as they never seem to change colour or be 'patchy'.

The Kangaroos seem to be enjoying the Spring. Do enjoy the spring before the mercury begins to rise and it becomes pretty hot. Meanwhile, Aussie cricket team has enrolled Steve Waugh for psychological help before their next test match vs England. At 1-1, the series looks pretty evenly matched ! Are you following Ashes?
