Why We Spent Our Labor Day Living It Up

Monday was our Labor Day holiday. We spent the long weekend with my brother, his wife, his handsome son, and his son’s beautiful girlfriend at a spa and marina, our treat.
My brother’s wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We have all been complete wrecks waiting to hear from her surgeon. Fortunately, we found out last week that she has the mildest form that a bit of surgery and daily 2 minute doses of radiation can help. It has been a huge relief to hear this news. We also found out that my husband had a precancerous lesion on his nose, which his dermatologist removed.
As a result, we all had massages, went boating, went swimming, ate our fool heads off, exercised, shopped, and had a wonderful time together celebrating life and sharing our joy.
Life is so fleeting that we must enjoy ALL our moments together.

So true, we need to enjoy life while we are among the living, it can all change in a moment!! I am so glad about the diagnosis and that your hubs was caught early

Certainly a great picture of everyone having a good time. Sounds like you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend.
Sorry to hear about your brothers wife and hopefully the treatment will work.
You are right about life being so fleeting....gotta live life to the fullest while you have the chance.

It sounds like a lovely day filled with family and fun...yay! Sorry, about the cancers. My dad just had something done, but they don't know if they were cancerous cells or not. They were removed as a precaution.

@DianneN I hope everything is fine with her. They just did some "punch biopsies" on some of the red dots he has on his arms..The only good thing about that is at least it is external..and not in an advanced state.

@snowy22315 I am more worried than she is. They gave her a genealogy test, too. She’s only 51 and too young in my opinion to have what she has.
That is good news about your father. It’s so important to get checked routinely by a dermatologist.

Such a relief for all of you I am sure! I am hoping she has an easy time with the treatments and a successful outcome--and you are right--life is fleeting and we need to enjoy it with our loved ones every chance we can--
