I confess to eating lots of sweets.

When I have visitors in my house, I usually have salty appetizers, crackers and dips and then a main dish and a dessert. Claudia invited us for tea and she had cookies, cupcakes, meringue balls and jams. And I confess I ate more than my share of all of them. I don´t have sweets at home nor I desire them. Leticia has diabetes and I prefer some cheese or salami. So now I was craving for the sweets I don´t usually have. And I am stuffed and with a guilty feeling. I was doing fine with my weight until today Do you think that it will hurt me a lot to have eaten to much only this once? I hope not.

I love sweets too and planning to get myself a nice chocolate cupcake today at the bakery near my supermarket today. No, I don't believe it harms you when you indulge once in a while. I too am watching my sugar intake so I'm careful too.

@marguicha I see. You're really watching your intake of sweets because of family health conditions.

Consider it your splurge day or "free" day. You have to treat yourself every now and then. I've been doing my sweets for breakfast this past week in the form of danish, honeybun, etc.

@marguicha Yum. Hubby volunteered to do the grocery shopping today and he came home with a dozen donuts, chocolate covered, cream-filled, etc. and a box of honey buns and the small individual pies. I reminded him when he got home that he is a diabetic and should never have bought that many sweets.

No, I do not think that eating a lot one day can ruin a diet. I like a little dessert, I have a couple of times a week.

Well, I don't really like sweet because it has a lot of fat which is the same as fatness

I had a lot of ice cream too much once. Then I stopped it. That was okay with you too if you had it once.

I think just once is all right. I used to enjoy having something sweet at least once a week. However, even though it is probably psychological once my husband passed on and it was discovered he had untreated diabetes and I spent time afterward having his daughter take away many, many sugar packets because he loved sugar in tea, coffee, and a lot of other things. I could no longer look at sugar and was glad I always drank my tea plain. Now I just cannot eat sweets like I used to. When I get the urge and I bake cakes I aways use 1/2 less the sugar they say to use. I am now a fan of savory and salty snacks.

I'm sure an occasional 'outbreak' won't mean the end of the world. We try to stick to savoury stuff too.

Anything eaten not moderately is bad for the health, I think. I can't blame you, I love sweet stuff too...
