Happy Monday

Said just about nobody...lol, especially those who are headed back to work or school today. However, It is just another day here. I didn't get up and get hubby off to work today. I didn't sleep well due to my hip hurting. I had taken a muscle relaxer during the afternoon and it helped but didn't knock out the pain. I slept but was not in a full mode of sleep. I was aware of my surroundings. I hate this kind of sleep. To top it off I woke up with pain in my back. But the knee is behaving and the hip feels better. Why can't all my body parts get along? I am applying ice as we talk and that is helping a lot. I will be doing my exercises that the physical therapist gave me years ago again today also. I woke up before the alarm went off and again when it was going off. I alerted him to the alarm and then totally crashed. I managed to get 2.5 hours of deep sleep after that. We don't have too much on the agenda today. I do have to go into town and pick up a new glucose meter for my hubby at the drug store and also go mail a couple of packages at the post office. That is all that HAS to be done today. How did you sleep last night and what are your plans for this Monday? Photo Credit: Pixabay, public domain

I can say Happy Monday since I am retired. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Hope you are better soon. It is awful to be in pain.

@HazySue I use peppermint oil for the bad headaches and massage it into temples. I much prefer the ice over pills.

I had a pretty good sleep. Today I went with hubby at the hospital for his therapy, he feels better, but not well yet. I stopped at the grocery store for a few things, the evening is coming and it's pretty cold.

@kareng Yes, we have a fireplace. Yesterday evening I put a blanket on my legs while watching the TV, I like to stay warm. The fireplace is so nice during the holidays.

@LadyDuck I love sitting in front of the fireplace. It's just so nice and cozy. I find that keeping my legs warm keeps them from hurting so much.

Ok so what is a quilt sandwich? Back is better, hip is back claiming first place now in pain. I'm fixing to get at least a half of a muscle relaxer.

@crazyhorseladycx That is one craft I wish I would have learned. Maybe one day. Knees have both been bad for years. I was told about 15 to 20 years ago that I needed knee replacements. I decided that I would hold off on that because I didn't want to do it too soon and then need another one. I'm glad I did because I think all this is due to Fibro and/or Sjogrens Syndrome and the pain comes with flares. As long as I don't overdo it and stay in my routine, I'm okay.

@kareng 'pologies, such'd such be puttin' the backin' fabric, battin' 'n quilt top all together. i've been havin' diff'culties 'n aint been able to cut the backin' fabric yet. will need to pin baste the whole thingy 'n then take such to the sewin' machine to be quilted. i'd a plan fer such back'n july when such 'twas started...now i jest stare 't the quilt top 'n shake my head, lol. i'm thinkin' some sort'a swirly things all o'er to soften all 'f the geometric...time'll tell. 'tis such comin' from yer knees? feet?

I'm sorry your hip is hurting you and you didn't get good sleep last night. I hope today will be better with those exercises. It's good you have a light day planned. My day started well. I went to the Y for a good workout in the pool and fitness center. Then went to Aldi for a couple of groceries. Now, I'm home for the rest of the day.

I have been rotating the ice packs today from hip to back and back to the hip. So far a nice improvement.

@just4him Beginning to think the forces are against us. It's either me or hubby with a health problem just about all the time.

I'm sweeping and mopping floors as we're having dinner guests tomorrow. We'll enjoy having them but I always need to do a bit extra cleaning when I know people are coming to visit.

That is always the case. I think we all overdo it when company comes. When you think of visiting other people's houses, you don't expect perfection, or at least I don't.

@JudyEv I stopped stressing over it when I realized that sometimes I have a bigger mess to clean up after visits. There was one particular one with kids where kids were not supervised or told to pick up what they dropped, etc.

I think I secretly love Mondays. I love the predictability and routine of it all. Weekends are for fun but they wear me out. On Mondays I know exactly what to expect and what is expected of me. I got up and packed my husbands lunch. I made him a Nutella sandwich and he was thrilled. We don't often have bread or Nutella in the house. Its funny how its the little things that bring us joy.

That's a great attitude on Monday. Since I have my mom living with us, and she has Alzheimer's, nothing is routine anymore. I hope you have a great day.

@kareng Alzheimer's is a tough thing to deal with. I guess that makes Alzheimer's the routine?

There is just something about the word Monday. I don't like them because my husband goes back to work and I miss not having him around. I have my mom here now, but she doesn't talk much at all.

I had trouble falling asleep last night, but when I did I slept like a baby. Except, like you, I woke up this morning before my alarm went off, saw that I had a few more minutes, and decided to just lay in bed and wait. But of course I fell back into a deep sleep immediately, and so I was groggy when my alarm went off a few minutes later. Why does it always seem to happen that way?

I don't know but it always does. I didn't get out of bed early today. I just rolled over after hubby's alarm went off. I didn't hear him get out of bed, shower, get dressed, nothing. That's how bad I crashed.

Haven't slept yet today. I will probably conk out at some point while I'm on the computer. That's what usually happens. Plans for today are to get my husband on the phone talking to roofers so he can get his questions answered and we can move forward.
