Do you know that it exists a parody of the Nobel Prize for weird discoveries?
The winners get $10 trillion Zimbabwean dollars.
As the Zimbabwean dollars are worthless, they finally win nothing, but it's funny.
Those are some of the winner of the 2019 editions, that was held yesterday, September 12.
- Dutch and Turkish researchers, for trying to find out which nation has the "ugliest" money
- An Italian researcher, who assumed that eating pizza can prevent cancer, but only if you eat Italian pizza in Italy.
- A group of researchers from the Newcastle University (UK), who "demonstrated" how cows that have names, give more milk than those nameless.
Last but not least.
- A group of researchers from a Swiss university, tried to determinate if a full bottle of beer hurts more than an empty bottle if smashed over the head.
Needless to say that they had a hard time finding volunteers, they found none.
They tried empiric techniques, simply to conclude that, empty or full, a beer bottle causes a lot of hurt.
If you want to read more this is a link to an article.
Did you ever heard about this weird IG Nobel?

@crazyhorseladycx Animals love soft music, I notice that the cats also appreciate, while they hate that noisy music that youngsters play.

No I had never heard of this particular Award. But it is funny the prize is worthless also.
I have heard of science receiving monies for ridiculous studies though before.

@LadyDuck I'm sure I should have been nominated by now - maybe my research conclusion that my conclusions are not good enough is worth a prize in itself....

@LadyDuck Haha. Yeah.. they are trying their best to get engaged and break their boredom.
Oh, I see. Even in our county, our farmers used to name the cows. There will be so many cows and hence naming them would help.

@smileyhema I remember that my grandparents also named their cows and their goats too.

Ha ha! Those are great awards! I will start trying out names when I see a cow. It is good to know they might give more milk if they think they have a name!

@DeborahDiane Of course, they name their cows also because they love their animals. My grandmother even named the hens she kept for the eggs.

@LadyDuck - Yes, farmers do name their cows, don't they? I'm sure it is just a convenience, so they know which cow they are talking about, not a way to increase the amount of milk they produce. I love these fictitious awards, though!

@LadyDuck I have seen some very pretty paper money from around the world. I really don't recall seeing any that was ugly.

I checked their award and the one about the money was not ugliest in the sense of not attractive but "dirtiest" in the sense of how many germs on the banknotes. It seems that those made with cotton fibers are the "dirties", it seems that the Danish Crowns are among the dirties in the world.

@LadyDuck Oh, that makes more sense then, ewww don't want any of the Danish Crowns then! I ordered out the other day and wiped the bills I gave down with disinfectant wipes, they were a little damp yet but when I told them I wiped them down they were grateful lol
