Our younger son has a 3 car garage, but had his “show car” stored in our 2 car garage for years. We wanted it OUT, because we have three cars and had to keep two of them outside.
So last week we hired a flatbed to drive it to our son’s house and stow it in one of his empty bays. If it had a battery, we would have driven the car to his house long ago.
We love having all the room in our garage now. I don’t know why we didn’t do this sooner!

lol It is amazing how our children move out and leave their toys behind lol Steve once moved out and left Danny behind, I called him to remind him that the 15-year-old belonged to him not me lol I hated to see him go but he belongs with his father and now Kristen. That was many years ago!! Danny does adore his younger sister Syd.

@BelleStarr So true about the crap still in our homes. The kids will be up a creek when we decide to sell our house.
Funny, but my husband’s mother threw out his baseball card collection, signed Mickey Mantle cards and all, when he left for college. He still weeps over it.

Sometimes storing a car turns into a forever thing. We made that mistake one time, and never again.
I guess he was not in a hurry for it.

We had that problem with oldest daughter and leaving too much in her room which was taken over by one of the twins after she moved out. She just thought she could store things there forever, even after she got married. We eventually got donated what the twins didn't want. She left a lot of clothes that I know she just forgot about, all her trophies, ribbons, scrapbooks, yearbooks, dolls, and lots more. Kids!!

@DianneN My oldest was a pageant girl. Now that she has a little girl, she asked for all of her old pageant dresses for her daughter to play dress up in. I told her she had to be kidding. Give a child a dress that costs $375 to play in and maybe tear up? I don't think so. I need to send them to cleaner and put up for sale. I'd have a vacation paid for if they all sold.

Interesting that his garage was bigger and leisurely empty yet though had his car. Nice car that it is. Good idea to move it where it really belongs.
I've obviously not kept up. You must be in CT to have it moved. I've envisioned you in Florida forgetting you are mainly snow birds.

@DianneN well, the short version might be that without a battery is not so easy to come over and move it anytime the circumstances change. Plus I know that out of sight out of mind plays a large part in most odd u.s. rebranding to get things done.
For you and your husband though you would see it each time you went somewhere. Makes it hard not to mumble or grumble under one's breath.

@MarshaMusselman He plans to have some work done to the car and of course replace the battery. Of course it takes a lot of money and time. It’s a show car. We are just happy it’s out of our garage after all these years.

@DianneN Hello you! We moved about 3 years ago when it became clear that, barring any disasters, the kids wouldn't be coming back.
We do still have one spare bedroom for when one of them visit and we have a sofa bed downstairs. It can be a bit snug when they have the audacity to visit at the same time.

@andriaperry Both kids left most of their junk here, including some important things such as a mint comic book collection, trophies, awards, and diplomas. I have no need for those. I guess when we move, they’ll clear their junk out.
