That is my minimalist approach to my self care routine. Instead of 8 or 10 step skincare routine, which famous beauty bloggers rave about, I have hardly 3 of them plus only in the evening, because in the morning it's just refreshing spritz of rose water. I don't use foaming cleansers, instead of them I opt for organic honey, salt or clay, which make their cleaning job even better than commercial face washes. I don't use moisturizing creams or serums, because my skin is extra sensitive and putting on my skin some substance with 20 ingredients sounds terrifying. My best night cream is apricot kernel or almond oil, which is very light and extra soothing. On hot summer it is aloe Vera gel. That's it. Simple, cheap and works fine for me. What about you guys? Do you believe in commercial products or rely on affordable organic organic substitutes?

Being a natural 'beauty' soap and water does the job!

i find 't a tad funny, all the funds spent'n all those concoctions. most folks need nothin' more'n jest plain water. the others strip their natural oils, which tends to lead fer the need fer moisturizers. fer myself? plain water 'n coconut oil 's a moisturizer. i've naturally dry skin'n our arid clime requires such.

Wow. You are almost my soul mate in what concerns skincare. Actually most of those expensive jars and tubes are just placebo, which make customer believe, that it is some kind of "fountain of youth". The more stuff we put on our skin, the more irritation and oxidation we cause. I always remember my grandma who had perfect plumpy skin at her 75years. She washed her face with plain water and moisturized with sour cream sometimes.

@Julie555 yepperz, that'n temporary "fixes" 's they'll plump'n fill 'n all that good schtuff claimed. 't least whilst yer still usin' 'em daily. the condition 'f ones skin 'tis most oft from nutrition. sounds's though yer grandma done quite well with such through her years. interestin' 'bout her usin' sour cream, perhaps such did a bit 'f exfoliatin' 'n moisturizin' 't the same time?

@crazyhorseladycx absolutely agree. And our skin is the largest breathing organ, which cannot work properly if we constantly slather different concoctions on it. Actually yeah, my grandma used to eat a lot of fresh veggies and stayed away from sugar. Sour cream is very soothing and exfoliating at the same time, due to acidity. I make sometimes masks with that. That's very cooling and pleasant

I think this is for my wife because I don't know anything about skin lotion or whatever.

My skincare routine is a simple body wash in the shower. Going through all that is timewasting to me. I'm a simple person who doesn't like to spend more time than necessary on my face and hair. The most I do is once a month at the salon when I get my hair cut.
