I have been reading this book about the diaries of Maud Berkeley and I found it very amusing and interesting. The subject of this book is Maud`s life in the late nineteenth century when she wrote about her life and her family life in the form of a diary . Not only is it a written account of their lives , she also did many lovely illustrations of members of her family, their home and places she visited during that time.
I particularly enjoy looking at the illustrations and the characters in the book. Maud lived in the Isle of Wight which is one of my favourite places in the UK.

I heard about this book but never had time to read it! I may check it in future if time permits! That way my Daughter in law is a Doctorate in English and she teaches English literature in the University, I will have to check if she is having this book in her collection!

She may have this book in her collection if she has a large collection of books. I think it would appeal to her if she likes reading books on history and art.

The book was published in 1985 and you can still buy copies of it from online booksellers. I have also seen it for sale at an antiques fair.

It is an interesting book with lots of lovely illustrations by the author who was also an artist.
