All I Want is a Coffee!

That sounds so simple.
After almost six weeks of travelling, we have certainly learned that not all coffee is the same.
Not all fast food restaurants are fast.
Last night was one of our more aggravating coffee stops.
I'll not name the fast food restaurant, but will state that they do promote their coffee.
We entered the restaurant. There were other customers present who had also ordered meals or drinks.
Coffee was ordered at 8:17 PM. (I checked the printed receipt.) The coffee was paid for.
It was 8:27 PM when we were finally presented with our two senior coffees.
We ask for cream on the side, because invariably too much cream is added, but for some reason, cream on the side is rarely accompanied by a stir stick.
This morning we went to the same restaurant and the coffee service was within a minute....much more acceptable.
Over the last six weeks, many of the coffees served have been tepid, rather than hot....sometimes the cup is full.....sometimes almost an inch from the top of the cup.
Prices too, have varied from as low as $0.39 -$3.90 per small cup of take out coffee.
I think I could write a book about coffee and coffee service.
The photo was taken a week or so ago, and does not represent the slow service.

You know how much I love my coffee so I would be very disappointed if it was slow service and/or tepid coffee.

We've actually spent a lot of time laughing about bad coffee and slow service.
As long as I'm prepared for disappointment, it's easier to deal with. In the beginning I found it upsetting....now....it's....I wonder how this coffee will turn out.

@morleyhunt Now I feel that I’ve just drunk a big mug of bad coffee. Thanks!

@Morleyhunt Well only so long as it comes in a proper grownup cup. I refuse to drink coffee from a plastic or paper takeaway receptacle - it’s just wrong. I also strongly disapprove of taking coffee out and drinking it in the street.

I'm sorry. Hopefully you have a very hot, very fresh mug of coffee just the way you like it to take the foul taste out of your mouth.

I have had instances where I received tepid coffee, or recently I went into McDonald's and ordered coffee and they had to make a new pot.

I'm often more concerned with the temperature of the coffee. Tepid coffee hold no appeal to me. I like my coffee hot!

This makes me believe that I love only a few coffees that are served around.

I'm reasonably tolerant...but tepid coffee, or coffee drowned in cream just isn't to my taste.

It sounds like you really enjoy drinking coffee. I think that coffee prices when out vary considerably. Train and bus stations have pricey coffees. Airports sell coffee at even higher prices. I used to drink coffee and often didn't feel well afterwards. I rarely drink mint tea and like drinks that taste similar to coffee.

10 minutes for coffee is too long. Maybe they needed to brew a pot and wait for it to get real hot.
My favorite coffee is McDonald's. I don't like Starbucks, Dunkin donuts, Burger King, or Tim Hortons.

I like a coffee in the morning and another after dinner.
My husband likes coffee much more often, so I'll drink decaffinated coffee during the day.

Now that is an idea writing about the coffee you get while traveling and the kind of service you can expect

It just becomes so aggravating when my coffee is not hot...or when I need to wait a long time for a coffee at a "fast" food restaurant.

Do you think the not so good service has something to do with the senior price of the coffee?

If they don't want to serve senior coffee, then, it should not be offered.

Ten minutes from the time a coffee is ordered is way too long. How much work is it to pour a couple of coffees and hand them to a customer? I don't mind waiting a few minutes for a fresh pot if it means my coffee is hot and fresh...but ten minutes for a tepid coffee is ridiculous.
