I've Walked 4 Miles This Week..Some Of It Unintentionally!

Hubby John bought me a belated birthday present a few weeks ago, namely a pair of Nike Running Trainers (Sneakers), the Flexi ones for anyone who is familiar with such things. They were a bargain and I love them.
Anyway, since wearing them (they are light green but I don't care) I have been addicted to them. Why? Because they are SOOO comfy. Once I start walking (notice I said, 'walking' not 'running' lol) I literally can't stop..which is just as well.
Yesterday I got rained on during my 3 mile walk (it was 4 years to the day that Dad died so I just had to do something positive) but today was different. Glorious sunshine..really good for walking in.
Anyway, I had to visit this shop called Millets. It sells all things for the outdoors, such as waterproof jackets and the like. I have a few fleeces from there and love them all. Today I went there to pick up a pair of Peter Storm purple thermal leggings to go with the top I already have, that I had ordered previously online. Reduced, obviously.
The guy serving me was lovely but he must have said "No worries!" about 50 times. Luckily, I'm on Sertraline now so I just let it go. A few months ago I would've said something like, "You really like saying that don't you?" but I'm glad I'm a reformed character now lol. Another chap with dodgy eyes (lovely man) sorted the order out for me and off I trotted back home. It was boiling in the sun!
Up in the bathroom I TRIED to try on said leggings but - to my dismay - there was a hole in the seam on the left leg. I was mortified..and swore a few times but I was told I could exchange them so...
I rang up first because I didn't want to walk there (about half a mile) and be told there weren't any in stock and the "No worries" bloke told me they had some.
"Thanks a lot," I gushed.
"No worries!" came back the inevitable reply, bless 'im.
This time I made sure I was dressed for the occasion by dispensing with my fleece and replacing it with a t-shirt. Yes, t-shirt in October! I didn't half get some funny looks but I was the cooler one, not them..so there! Oh, and the obligatory leggings. Wouldn't look good in just a t-shirt.
The "No worries!" guy wasn't there but his dodgy-eyed mate was, and he gleefully gave me the replacement leggings. He was so sweet.
Oh, what joy...a perfect fit..and they will be brilliant for the Newcastle trip next month. It tends to be 'Baltic' there lol.

Why are you going to Newcastle? Do they need more coal?

There are no deep coal mines anywhere in the UK so the answer to that is a resounding ‘no’ lol

I am touched by your taking a long walk in the rain in memory of your Dad.
