When They Ask for My Email...

Almost every store now is asking for your email now when you shop. They want to send you all the upcoming sales and offers but I'll tell you it never ends.
I've kept a few that aren't too bad and by that I mean they only send you a few emails a month announcing new products and any discounts or coupons they're offering. But mostly they will send you an endless stream of offers, etc. and you find your email list goes on forever.
There's only a few stores I like well enough to be interested in their offers but it's a trend that seems to be getting worse. So I just unsubscribe if I can.
Have you noticed this trend growing in your locale.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing. Sometimes, I give them the email address and then, when I start getting them, I either ask them to drop me from their email list, or I have them all sent to spam. It is so irritating! At least, I would rather get an email than a phone call.

That's a much better solution although most of the time I say no. It's still annoying though.

I know- if they wouldn't get so crazy and send them out several times a week it wouldn't be so bad- :(

Yes, same here. But we usually use social APPs, thus the online stores will send their offers or discounts everyday. Then, like you did, I just unsubscribe it if I feel bothered.

It does get annoying though- I remember the old days of just shopping or going to the restaurant- haha! And it's over when you pay your bill. :)

This hasn't happened to me much. I will usually give it if I like the store / restaurant. There's only been one or two places that I've had to unsubscribe from.

Well that's lucky but I think my problem is that I think at the time I want to get them because I like the place but then when I start getting them it's way too much.

@MarymargII There was a service I came across that allows you to unsubscribe en masse. I've used it once or twice before to help clear my inbox. I find that the majority of the spammy emails come from companies I've found online. When I am out and about in the world and give my email address, I get maybe one or two a month.

I hate that! Not only do they bombard you but they pass along to others and it gets insane. The selling of emails addresses isn't just by "bad guy" harvesters but legit companies and government.

@MarymargII and some of them ask it every time even when you say you already have it, they say we need to have it again to send the new deals when they send them all along anyway.
