Sometimes word definitions are of no help

I have no idea what over zealous means so google it.
The definition I get is: "too zealous in attitude or behavior."
Of course, that is of no help, so I google zealous, since I don't know what that means.
The definition I get is: "having or showing zeal."
That's also useless because I have no idea what zeal means so have to look that up.
Thankfully, I do not need to google anything else after that.

@lovebuglena Right? Too much information before you get to the actual information you need!

Thanks for a good laugh! It's like when my GPS tells me to head south and I yell, "If I knew where south was, I wouldn't need you!"

I wouldn't know where south was either. I'd need an arrow or a sign to lead the way.

I would say the definition is overeager.

I think M.-L. might have answered your question. Passionate is another word to describe zealous.
