Power routines

I used to treat my daily coffee dose as simply a morning routine that I like to do. I can go about my day without it, but doing it makes me feel better, happier. But after reading an article about productivity today, I realized that having my morning coffee is not just a routine. It's actually my power routine. You might not realize it, but you probably do something like that too. Power routines are things that you do which keep you going throughout the day, make you feel energetic, and perhaps indirectly help you break bad habits. Exercising, reading, meditation - these are some examples. What are your power routines and does it make a difference when you do vs. don't do them everyday?

@hereandthere Wow, two is the maximum for me. I don't think I've drank more than 2 cups a day.

I would start with a mug of coffee before my home based job at night.

Oh you work only at night? Then for sure coffee would help.

@cahaya1983 Yes, I have a home based job and coffee is really a power booster (or maybe)

@ZedSmart Interestingly I've found that coffee helps boost my energy in the morning but it doesn't seem to have any effect on me at night!

I can't go without it or I get a terrible headache.

Fortunately I don't, but I do know some people that get headaches when they go without coffee.

I exercise every morning and have a cup of coffee when I’m finished. It works for me. Yes, I feel sluggish without exercise. Coffee is just a morning ritual.

Exercising is great! I wish I'm more disciplined at my morning exercise as much as I am at drinking coffee.
