My good deed

I am back after spending the last two days with a friend of ours who had to go into hospital for a quick procedure but the hospital insisted that he had someone stay before they would discharge him. He rang me and told me about it last week so I volunteered to do that.
It was quite good to have a bit of a catch up and although he was a bit sore I took him home and cooked dinner for us yesterday. A very impressive one I have to say! Beef Wellington, carrots and potato gratin followed by some caramel dessert. OK the caramel dessert was just a nuke in the microwave job but it was quite a tasty meal.
He had little wobble last night but soon calmed down after reassuring him it was normal he started to panic a bit so probably a good job I stayed the night. He was fine this morning and so I came back home. He laughed this morning and said if he had been on his own last night he would probably have called an ambulance to take him back to the hospital. I told him it was probably a good idea then that I had stayed.
I came home and then drove my wife to her friends house she was going to spend some time with her and help her with her shopping!
I rang my friend a few moments ago and he said he is absolutely fine now.
So tomorrow I think it is going to be an us day!

@garymarsh6 That was a really nice thing that you did, I think that you wore your halo up high like you supposed to on that day.

Haha well I surpassed myself with the Beef Wellington and guess what it didn't taste rubbery at all!
As for the dessert I admit to cheating and it was a shop bought one!

@garymarsh6 I’m impressed with the beef Wellington. Not to worry. I do the same cheating at times.
. What matters is that you were there for him, and that I love!

That's true it is good to help others! I have to admit not being as stupid as I was before because some people take advantage.

such a kind heart y'ave got, hon. so glad ya were able to stay with yer friend. sometimes that anesthesia can do a number'n folks. what takes 'normal' folk a few hours to get out'ta their system tends to stay with me fer days.
yer meal sounds lovely 'n i'm so glad ya were able to calm yer friend. i've not any doubts he's most grateful to ya. glad he's feelin' fine now, though perhaps a tad embarrassed.

@garymarsh6 Yes I would. It bothers me that people don't often ask for help, then sometimes you find out afterwards that they were in a mess and you didn't do anything to help because you didn't know!

@Fleura Exactly and that is why I said you would have done the same because I know how you helped out your friends in the past. Funnily I just wrote on another post why it is so important that we look out for each other. Not intruding but picking out clues when someone is struggling. Even giving a nice smile can help make someones day and that costs nothing!

After having a procedure where a person is put under, it's common to feel unsteady on the feet. That's why the hospital showed caution, for the first night home.

Absolutely and now a days they tend to kick you out straight away and not always in your best interests to be honest but then I guess they are so worried people are going to pick up infections by hospital stays plus you seem to recover more quickly when you are at home.

@garymarsh6 Hospitals were considered a sanitary, sterile environment. Instead, they are full of infectious bacteria and germs, even in the air that's breathed!

That was very nice of you to be there for your friend and take care of him. You helped him by staying overnight. I am glad things worked out and you can spend time with your wife now.

Thank you Hanni. I have just taken her to the dentist. She broke one of her teeth on an apple this morning. So the old adage an apple a day keeps the Doctor away did not apply to her this morning. I have not forgotten you about the cats in fact I will go and take a photo of them right now!
