Time passes so quickly

I can't believe that 19 years ago today my Dad passed away. It doesn't seem like all that time has passed yet at other times it feels like so long since I last saw him. He went to bed and never woke up. I still remembered the morning i got the call at work that he was gone. It was total shock and so unexpected. He was the best Dad and the kindest man. All who knew him loved him. He believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. He was always there for his girls. Growing up there was mom, us six girls and Dad. It's no wonder he was completely gray in his mid thirties. I think of him and mom every day. I sure do miss them. Even after 19 years this day brings up a lot of emotions and leaves me feeling sad.
My neighbor and friend who just found out she has stage 4 cancer went to the oncologist today. She was going to find out if they were going to start treatments or if she was full of cancer. They had drained fluid when she was in the hospital and they were testing it. They feared it may have spread throughout her body. If that was the case then there was nothing they could do. On my way in from work she was out in the yard. I went over to talk to her and all she did was cry and we hugged. She never said a word so I am thinking the news wasn't good. I am sure we will hear more from her husband.
Treasure your loved one. Enjoy your time with them. Life changes so quickly and the ones we love can be taken from us far too soon. I am having a rough day today.

Sorry about your dad. It never fully goes away.
Hope it is just all the worry that comes from having cancer for your friend.

I am so sorry, that must be so frightening.
I know that you will remain a good friend and neighbour.
I miss my Dad too, its been 10 years, but I miss hearing his voice, his big booming laughter, seeing the special smile that he had just for me-his only daughter.
You and I were both blessed to have had such a wonderful and amazing father as we did.

I miss my father, after 13 years since he passed away. You are right, we just get use to not being able to see them any more. We never really get over it! We were blessed, with beautiful parents:)

@Happy2BeMe My parents only had three girls and one boy. But, Dad protected us girls like a 'Banty--Rooster!'

@kobesbuddy That is what any good father would do...daddies are protective of their girls.

Best to always tell people how you love them and how important they are to you while they are still around.

Thanks. The tumor was in her pelvic area so I am thinking cervical cancer. She never really said.

@TiarasOceanView She started chemo tuesday. When she went in the hospital she had pneumonia and they drained fluid from her lugs. the fluid was full of cancer cells and also the lining of her stomach.

Yesterday was not a good day for me either. My daddy is doing very poorly. I don't think I will have him much longer. I'm sorry that you had a bad day too.

Sorry, it was a sad day for you. It was in August of 2017 that I lost my husband and soul mate and it still feels like yesterday so I know how it is. I will put in a prayer for your neighbor.
