The pie called Empanada

What I was eating in the picture is called Ilocos Empanada which is a pie of grated papaya mixed with native sausage and one egg plus seasoning. I was having that for breakfast after coming home from the Sunday market.

The empanadas I have had are filled with either apple, pumpkin or guava ........ I would love to try one with egg and sausage. I've never tasted papaya, is it sweet?
