Have You Tried Riding Bamboo Raft?

We call it "rakit" in our vernacular term, its a bamboo raft or bamboo floater where people ride to reach other side of the river? I just did awhile ago. And the photo is what I took to a group of people floating on the other raft. Its fun, exciting and nervous. Anyway the river is not so deep though it is wide. A raft here can accommodate up to ten people. Can also lift a motorcycle or a tricycle. This is one mode of transportation of the people living in the other side of the river. So shame they have no bridge. The government seems like forgotten them. The road is uncemented and during the typhoon season these people are isolated because of the flood in the river. But hey the place is so beautiful, so nature and so country. I still love living there and I still like riding the bamboo raft. I went there because I am part of a media tour of one government agency in my region.

The raft reminds me of paddle boarding. I’d be the first to fall in the water.

Actually yes, the boatman uses paddle, though some uses long bamboo stick.

When I think of a raft, I think of sitting not standing. That would be scary for me.

I sat during the course haha, one thing is that I may be out balance and my shoes will get wet if I stand.

That does look exciting but it is a very narrow raft. I'd be afraid of falling off.

Only in the Philippines, as we say. Some remote areas have their jeep half drown in the river and still pass through to it.

I did when I go to a survivalist school, I did it so I can try out to a reality show but sadly I didn't pass the medical. They think I will die due to all surgeries I have.
