It's been raining all day

Yesterday, while we were trying to find a vantage spot from which to take photos of the horse endurance riders, we found some lovely areas that had some beautiful callistemon or bottlebrush bushes. I hope you can see just how lovely these flowers were. They are a very bright red and stand out like beacons along the track. I’m sure the riders will enjoy their ride when there are so many pretty flowers to see.
The ride starts tomorrow but it has been raining most of today with strong winds to boot. We can’t take photos in the rain but at least we won’t be riding in it. Until till now, we’ve stayed within walking distance of each other but tomorrow Vince is going to the coast and I’ll say nearer to the base camp and take photos on the road – if it’s not raining. Wish us luck.

I assume they won't cancel the endurance ride if it is pouring down rain? That's not going to be very fun at all, for either the riders or the horses if they have to ride in a downpour! Hope the weather clears up for you and the participants!

i hope those folks take a moment to relish all that beauty, too. jest love those bottlebrushes! don't reckon i've e'er seen a bush, jest the flower'n 'rrangements.
i hope y'all're able to stay dry'n warm, hon. hopefully the winds'd calmed so's ya 't least'd not the need to deal with that, too.

@crazyhorseladycx We sometimes speak of a 'lazy wind' meaning it goes straight through you because it's too lazy to go around.
