Not Comfortable in my Skin …

I am heavily overweight. About 75 pounds’ worth of belly fat. It’s an awful feeling to be sluggish, slow and uncomfortable in your own skin.
I have tried many methods to lose weight…take weight loss tablets, hold an exercise routine, watch my diet, even in desperation tried to experiment with ‘home-made’ remedies. Nothing seems to work with me. I did lose a few pounds at first, but, ultimately, it came back again.
I am seriously interested in any suggestions or success stories. Do you have the same problem as me? Has anything worked for anybody? What are some solutions that do work for you … or didn’t work?

Walking at least 30 minutes every day has really helped me. I also cut back on the carbs. I did try Keto and I found it really easy to stick to and it really worked but I didn't want to eat that much fat so I adjusted it for me. I know it isn't easy and I have fell off the wagon many times but it something you just have to keep working at and find the thing that works best for you. It is not a diet but a lifestyle change so you have to do something that you know you can do long term.

I am intending to try walking but my feet hurts from my fibromyalgia condition. My niece is helping me buy a soft sneaker to alleviate some of the pain.
Not sure I know what is 'Keto' but saw and advert for Keto capsules being sold. Not available in TT.

I do most of those things already, except for the exercise which is difficult to keep because of my fibromyalgia that affects the soles of my feet. I used Apple Cider Vinegar and lost 12 lbs in 12 days but sadly, it didn't continue after that. My lifestyle is pretty rigid.

I am not overly overweight but have never been able to get rid of much belly fat but I am OK with that. I do watch what I eat and I never overindulge so perhaps with time, If you are determined to lose your belly fat perhaps this link can help,

I started using the MyFitnessPal app.
You put in your current weight, your target weight and the rate at which you want to lose weight i.e. 2lbs per week. It tells you how many calories you can eat per day.
You then input everything you eat (it has a huge database of foods and also barcode scanner) and what exercise you do and it tracks your net calorie intake.
I wasn't particularly overweight but I went from 153lbs to 140lbs in about 3 months using this app.

@Gita17112016 It must be difficult if you can't exercise.
The best thing about MyFitnessPal is that it opened my eyes to how many calories are in some foods. For that reason alone it's worth a look as it may identify certain high calorie foods you could cut out which may be a big help.

I am able to watch my diet but can't fast for long hours anymore. The exercise is hard because of pains caused by fibromyalgia condition.
You didn't seem to have a weight problem ...lucky you. I lost 12 lbs in 12 days using Apple Cider Vinegar but hit a stop after that. Still stuck there.

Watching diet and regular exercise are both weak areas. Giving up roti is hard, and the pain in my feet won't help me to do regular exercise. I have fibromyalgia.

I weigh 125 pounds and so my diet works well. It does take a lot of self-control.

The only solution that always worked for me was to count calories. Fats and sugars have so many calories that you immediately realize that you have to cut on them. My only exercise is walking. Our house is on three floors, I go up and down those stairs dozens of times a day.

I am sorry that it is so hard for you. I can only tell you how I finally did it and was not easy. I was fat off and on most of my life. I went on diets created by me, but, gained the weight back. The last time I lost weight it stayed off for about 6 months when I came to live in Israel and then gained it back. I discovered bakeries. I joined Overeaters Anonymous and learned something there one time. It is not a diet club but still did not help me. Finally when I turned about 67 I think it was I started to take the weight off. It is a long journey. I hated being fat and do not want to be fat again. It started in summer when I am not very hungry so lose weight but this time it carried into winter and instead of eating I was not so hungry and still lost weight. I take medication and eating at night does not agree with me so I do not eat much. I eat two meals a day and do not eat in between meals now and eat less than I did before and also in winters too. I can fast and not want to eat and I can look at food and not really be hungry now. It took a long time for me so maybe giving up things little at a time and eat less may help. I shared my journey with you. It is very hard and god luck and I hope you find the best way for you.

It is very hard to want to lose weight and wait for it to come off. I hope one day it will not be a struggle for you but come naturally to take the weight off and keep it off. It has been a long journey for me and feel so much better that I have done this journey.

Thank you for sharing. It seems an uphill struggle for you. I am both inspired and impressed. I am presently eating two meals a day but I am so craving something crunchy. Also I have wind pains if the hours are too long between my eating. But I'll keep on struggling...

I'm overweight by at least 30 pounds. I've got belly fat too but not that prominent. I'm 146 lbs, my heaviest already because I used to way around 120- 128 lbs only. For my height, the ideal weight should be 115- 125 lbs the most. I'm trying my best to eat right and not too much and move, move, move, walk, walk, walk.... Drink lots of water too.
I think my sedentary lifestyle has contributed to my weight gain and I've been eating too much plus I'm not getting any younger so my metabolism is slowing down.
Let's see if this would help me lose pounds.

Being over weight can have serious health problems like diabetes, joint pains, heart problems, kidney failure and even stroke. Brisk walking daily for about 30 minutes twice a day ( Early in the morning and in the evening) , use of staircase to climb at office, home or malls instead of the escalator or elevator and cycling are all forms of exercises which doesn't require any special training like a gym or aerobics.
Cutting down on deep fried foods having lots of carbs, salt , sugar, fat and replacing them with fruit juice, fresh salad, cooked green vegetables will help in reducing weight and keep us healthy.

I agree with counting calories and low impact exercise. I studied fitness for a while and would be happy to message you with some pointers. You need to track every calorie going in and out. This is where we find why weight is refusing to shift.
I have always struggles with my weight. So I can definitely empathize with you.
