Have you ever provoked someone's road rage?

Have you ever been on the receiving end of someone's road rage? I’ve never had someone go absolutely bonkers with anger at me for something I did while driving, but there have been a number of times when I could see another driver mouthing nasty words at me. I remember one time, for example, when another driver and I were both trying to merge from two lanes into one. He sped up trying to get in ahead of me, but I could see that I had just enough of a positional advantage that if I sped up too, he’d have no choice but to back off. Yes, I got there first, and it felt like I “won” the competition. But now I realize that it was a stupid thing to do. In today’s world road rage is all too real, and it’s crazy to deliberately put yourself in a position where you might provoke it. I’m wiser now. Instead of trying to win the competition to get ahead of somebody else, I’ve decided I want to win the competition to be the most courteous driver on the road.
