FOOD PORN: "Chicken Alfredo Pasta"

Out of the blue, a friend of mine texted me yesterday. She requested to see her and wanted to listen to her rants in life. Since I am so loaded working on my online jobs, I decided to break free from them for a while. We went to a peaceful local restaurant called Arca's Yard. It is a great opportunity to have a taste with a new meal and I ordered "Chicken Alfredo Pasta." We had a great time and she's ready to face the world after ranting. "Would you abandon your job if someone needs you?" "Are you going to sacrifice your time to a friend?" "Do you find someone to rant about your problems?" Image Credit: Shavkat

Of course. However, it depends on who the friend is.

I agree. Among all the colleagues in the past, she is the closest one in my life. I must admit that I am a choosy one in making friends.

@mlgen1037 I must admit that I am Mr. Conegniality. But I choose the close ones. In the past, I have some user-friendly friends.

@Shavkat likewise here, my friend. I like having small circle of friends. Less complications too.

It was a tasty meal. I can imagine your husband's reaction if you are ranting. Let me guess, he just look at you and let you do the ranting, right?

@Dyvette16 I think he is a sensitive man. Unlike other men who are so irritated when listening to rants.

As for me it was impossible to abandon my job, I gave my time as soon as I was free. I can sacrifice my free time, not to abandon my job and make a mess.

@LadyDuck I agree. I need to consider that, too. I do not want to jeopardize my life.

I think she is fine now. It is once of the blue moon for me to go out of the house.

@Shavkat I would take a break like you did to help a friend out. I have a friend I can share things going on in my life with.

It depends on the who and the situation. I know a few people who simply are miserable all the time and I get tired of listening to that. But the chicken alfredo looks delicious. Love it.

I agree with you about this. Some people cannot stop whining about their personal issues. It is worse if they do not listen. I am glad that you like the meal.

@Shavkat Some people, like I said, I think actually ENJOY misery. They feed off of it. I just don't have time for people like that.

It is definitely a good way to break the monotony of what you are doing and use it to help a friend. It is nice to meet friends and connect with them.

I agree. I do not have a regret moment. It is a good thing to slow down a bit for working hard lately.

To be frank, I avoid such company unless the problem is serious. But for rants in life? No way, I wouldn't let them bother me.

I am not like her, my friend. Perhaps she is so loaded with her problems. I even told her to talk to her husband about them. She refused to do so.

Actually I am not really into that.I avoid to do that to be there when someone needs just to listen of their rants because I wanted then to get used on how to be strong to face trials in life and also not all the time I am there for them or I am available so they have to be brave and not to feel dependent at all times whenever they are down.

You have a point. To some extent, this whiner people need to learn to face their personal lives. I do not usually ask for help if I can do it by myself.

It just happened that I have not to plot my teaching schedules yesterday. That is the reason why I was able to see her. Perhaps she is lucky to have me this time.

Well, if someone really needs me like an emergency situation, I'd help him or her in a heartbeat. I have a rant person whom I can talk to whenever I have a problem, and I am her rant person, too

I guess we are lucky to have people like them. This friend of mine is also my shock absorber sometimes. If she is not available, I could still share it here.

I would not argue about this. I think we need to spend time with our friends. They would do the same thing in the future.
