A bird up on my bike

Carol DM (@CarolDM) recently put up a post: about girls riding motorcycles.
Does anyone remember the song ‘Bird up on my Bike’? Google says it was written by Mike Sarne in 1963. My Mum and Dad did their courting on a motor bike and Mum always reckoned she would have been one of the original ‘birds’ up on a bike.
The photo shows my Dad’s motorcycle. I thought it was a Norton but apparently it's a BSA

@mlgen1037 Its not always easy to balance on a bike. The fear of falling is real cause you could break something if you do fall.

@sallypup that’s exactly my fear. I fell multiple times. I have no choice but to give up learning it.

Old motorcycles are getting in fashion here likewise with old scooters.

@Alexandoy I know with cars over here there are two categories - the really old ones are called antique and the not-quite-so-old are vintage.

When I was in high school, I dated a girl who rode a motorcycle. We had many wonderful evenings cruising up and down the local roads on that bike! She was quite the daredevil on her bike!

@JudyEv I tried to ride a motorcycle once....and promptly crashed head-on into a building. Nope, never had a bike, just always rode pillion on hers. She was quite good on that bike!

@moffittjc We had a friend who was quite a bit older but when he was first married, his wife rode the bike and he rode in the sidecar with the baby.

Wow. That's a nice motorcycle. It's also a great picture of your dad.

@smileyhema No, I don't. I might have liked to once but I'm too old now.

Oh yeah, Norton's are badass. If I could afford to do so, I'd buy one and fix it up, go total cafe racer with it!

Nice bike but the rider needs to get a change of attire. Perhaps a leather jacket? Don't know that one but I remember this motorcycle themed song

My Uncle was a biker! He’s dealing with the effects of Agent Orange now though!

I'm very sorry about your uncle. Agent Orange has had dreadful consequences.
