It is our custom to kiss, hug or shake hands when we visit our relatives or vice versa.
In some culture, they kiss their hands. But for male relatives, they just hug or shake hands. For female relatives, we normally kiss our sisters or mom or aunts.
This is what we practice. What about in your country?

We kiss the cheek if it is 2 women or one man and one woman. Men either shake hands or hug depending.

We bring our hands together, press our palms and say "Pranams or Namaste or Namaskar". It is also called as "Anjali mudra" in yoga.
It's believed that we press our palms, it connects the left and right brain and brings unification. It reduces the stress and anxiety and helps us to focus on the person.

My custom is to give my hands to the younger ones for their blessing. With my contemporaries it is a hand shake. But it looks like I am the only one doing that, waheehee.
