Today's night I will have my first Christmas dinner of the year, next week I will have another two.
Today's dinner is somehow formal and I will wear black trousers and a blouse, it is with my husband's colleagues. I must confess that I never know what to dress in these occasions and next week, one of the dinners is very formal, I still wonder what to wear for that one.
Do you have Christmas dinners?

I used to have dinner like that when I worked and found that black is always acceptable. Cant' go wrong with that choice

We can never go wrong with a simple black dress Now that you mentioned it I need to buy one as I have none and it could always be a good solution for these occasions.

You could wear a nice dress and a coat!
I will have two Christmas dinners with my friends, the first one is this Saturday, the next one is on Thursday 19th and then on the festive days with my family

I had my first one last Sunday. It was a local hobby club, and we met at the Red Lobster. We meet quarterly and most of the members wear jeans and tops that are club-themed. A few of the guys donned Santa hats. This is the first year I'm 100% self employed and working from home, so there won't be an "office party." For those we usually wore jeans and some sort of festive sweater. We'll have one in about a week for the residents of my apartment club house. That one's come-as-you-are (so, very casual). The only dinner I usually "dress up" for is the one with my parents on Christmas day when we go to a buffet. We're still pretty casual by most people's standards, though - usually comfy slacks and a red sweater with festive costume jewelry. I see a lot of people online throwing "ugly Christmas sweater" parties, which looks like fun.
