Christmas dinners season is open

Today's night I will have my first Christmas dinner of the year, next week I will have another two. Today's dinner is somehow formal and I will wear black trousers and a blouse, it is with my husband's colleagues. I must confess that I never know what to dress in these occasions and next week, one of the dinners is very formal, I still wonder what to wear for that one. Do you have Christmas dinners?

That sounds like a lovely Christmas party. I’m going to one next week. I prefer to wear dresses, but your outfit sounds lovely, too. Will it be at the school or a restaurant? Have a wonderful time!

It was in a very fancy restaurant, my outfit was perfect for this one. Maybe I need to do some shopping for the next week dinner

We can never go wrong with a simple black dress Now that you mentioned it I need to buy one as I have none and it could always be a good solution for these occasions.

We had a Christmas dinner with friends last Sunday. It was a bit formal, so I wore a black dress with some sparkles. We are going to have another one this Sunday, but it will not at all be formal.

@nela13 A little black dress is something I always like, with nice shoes, comfortable because I was the one to serve the dinner.

A black dress with some sparkles seems a great choice for me. With a black dress, you can never go wrong.

I had my first one last Sunday. It was a local hobby club, and we met at the Red Lobster. We meet quarterly and most of the members wear jeans and tops that are club-themed. A few of the guys donned Santa hats. This is the first year I'm 100% self employed and working from home, so there won't be an "office party." For those we usually wore jeans and some sort of festive sweater. We'll have one in about a week for the residents of my apartment club house. That one's come-as-you-are (so, very casual). The only dinner I usually "dress up" for is the one with my parents on Christmas day when we go to a buffet. We're still pretty casual by most people's standards, though - usually comfy slacks and a red sweater with festive costume jewelry. I see a lot of people online throwing "ugly Christmas sweater" parties, which looks like fun.

It seems to me that you have a lot of fun in those dinners. Our Christmas dinner eve is quite informal as we are all at home and with family.
