I need a lil more whimsy'n my life

've ya e'er thought such? I believe myself to be a purty practical gal, but jest love what these folks've made fer their mailboxes. Could use me a couple more ponies 'n these'd not come with a hefty vet/feed bill. The hubs says "no". The youngest son who's a welder says "no". I asked the folks who've these cuties if'n they could make me e'en one, they said "no". These 're 'dorable, useful 'n hardy. Regular mail'n the top, packages can be safely put'n the bottom. Waterproof, windproof 'n a place'n their 'backs' fer decor. Yepperz, these folks 've blankets fer all seasons which these wear. I really, really want one. Whimsical creatures make my heart smile. *permission from said owners given prior to pic taken with full intent revealed 's to the purpose. yup, they think i'm a nutbird fer askin'...

I'm sorry everyone said no to your whimsy. They're adorable and practical at the same time. Who doesn't want windproof, weatherproof mailboxes?

@just4him i'm thinkin' such'd be good fer craft fairs 'n prolly e'en the feed store 'd stock/sell 'em. the hubs's been thinkin' 'f a profitable hobby once that shoulder 'tis mended. 't the moment he can't e'en do his leather work. yer correct though, 'd need to pry him off that danged thingy.

@crazyhorseladycx Lots of possibilities. I think the hubs and the son are too lazy to make it for you. Well, I know the hubs is from your descriptions of him. You would need to pry him away from the TV. Lots of possibilities.

@Juliaacv lol, perhaps? he ne'er liked the horses/cattle. but, he did gimme a plaque some years 'go fer mother's day that says:"horses are like potato chips...you can't have just one". i'll not hold my breath 'bout the mailbox though. he came'n got my ol' 69 p.u. with the promise 'f makin' needed repairs'n return 't to me. that 'twas 6 yrs 'go....i know he thinks i'll cave'n he can make 't 'nto 'n off-road racer thingy. uhm, nope! 's soon's i can, i'll be goin''n fetchin' such, bring 'er home.

Those are cute. They dont look hard to make. Instead of welding you could use screws to hold everything together. Then you might be able to make them yourself.

@crazyhorseladycx Rubber washers would help against leaking. Or some of that flex seal over it when you get it together.

@wolfgirl569 've ya e'er tried that flex seal? such's not been successful 'round these parts. 'd still need a plasma cutter ('r good nippers'n a stronger grip) fer the mane, tail 'n ears. not discountin' yer thoughts, but rubber washers don't do well out'n this arid clime.

aint they though? i'm huntin' fer the barrels. could use screws, but then'd need to worry 'bout leaks. nobody likes soggy mail, not that we've moisture that oft. they've manes 'n tails, too :)

Oh my gosh, I can totally see how that mailbox would be perfect for ya . . . I truly hope you can get one made for you! I am no welder, but as an art/craft person, I know it can be put together as long as you have all the pieces - and a quick seach online there are others who have created whimsical horse mailboxes. How adorable! Happy New Year, crazyhorseladycx! Sorry to not been here so much lately . . . too much going on. I aim to get back - I have missed chatting with you !

@crazyhorseladycx Oh yes, so many possibilities - I seriously wish you can get one or more of 'em! Different critters and flowing flowers - love the idea . I wish I had the "metal" skills myself - I want to make a custom fence and other metal garden thingies and keep looking around for ideas . . . so ideas I got - but I don't have the means to make these things myself. I wish we could put up a free standing mail box period - but our neighborhood isn't set up that way - all mailboxes are pretty much attached to the house on the porch. It would be inconvenient for the mail person plus it wouldn't be safe especially on our street. Thank you! Well, busy here and drama here and there too. Last year wasn't the best of years and I had literally wished to go hide in a cave, but well, I aim to make life simpler and live "better" period. You know what, I'll PM you now! Big hugs to you . . . wishing you an amazing 2020

@much2say i'm with ya, loads 'f ideas'n inspiration, no weldin' skills. i knew i should'a took such'p years 'go. i need new pasture fencin', too 's my wooden posts 've rottin' one by one. 'd hopes to get all this metal (posts that're steel) put 'nto place 'n then add climb proof horse fencin' 'top 'f that. funds. ne'er seems to be 'nough 'f those. nor folks with muscle to dig said holes. gettin' more 'seasoned' 'n health hiccups jest aint workin' out well, lol. i'd hopes one 'f the son's 'd step'p to the plate'n come help. seems they've better thingies to do with their time. there's some mighty cute'uns that'cha could mount to yer house, too :) 'gain, who's gonna build 'em? sigh.. here our mail box's buried 5' with a solid steel post. stopped folks from runnin' o'er 't purty quick. danged sure couldn't hit't then drive off. 'tis been nice not havin' to 'replant' the mail box fer some years. ugh, the drama, health hiccups, losses 'f loved ones'n sanity. i hear ya 'n can empathize. we're gonna look't such's a growin' process 'n come out stronger this year, eh?

i think i'm gonna print out y'all sweet comments to show the great support i've got to gimme 't least one 'f those made, lol. i can see these bein' made 'nto many critters, e'en if'n one'd not the wish to use the barrel fer packages, 'd be purty with flowers flowin' o'er the sides, eh? yes ma'am, lots 'f ideas. i jest seem to be lackin' the skills to pull such wizardry off, lol. happiest 'f new year wishes to ya 'n yers, too, hon! no worries, i'd figured ya were plenty busy with the family, those young'uns out'ta school. that'd be priority o'er all else. hopefully all 'tis well'n yer neck 'f the woods? i've missed chattin' with ya, too. we really ought'a swap email addy's, eh? hugs to all ~

technically not 'gainst the law to snap a pic 'f these folks mailboxes since i 'twas not'n their property. i jest think that's rude though. 'lways ask permission to take pics 'f other folks places, e'en out'n ranch country, which can be a dauntin' task huntin' down the owner 'f such. i jest love these!

@crazyhorseladycx Well, there is all kinds of people and it's so nice of you to do the lawful thing, that not everyone knows about getting permission to take a picture of their stuff. So don't worry about it you did the right thing.
