Is DIY cottage cheese delicious? / myLot

I occasionally saw a video about how to make the cottage cheese at home. It is amazing to me since I have never known we can DIY cheese at home. It is quite easy. All you need is the full fat milk, lemon juice and a little salt. My husband got a start and he asked me not to have a try. He said I would waste the food

I wonder whether you have tried to make cottage cheese at home and is it delicious?

@youless Yes. It tastes too good. Moreover it is fresh and better than ones from stores. I have made some today and going to use it for dinner.

I don't like it actually or didn't the last time I tried it from the grocery store. So I wouldn't even attempt to make it knowing I didn't really care for it.

@youless I would say homemade is better because you don't have artificial flavors or colorings or preservatives in it.

I remember my grandmother always making it at home. The reason was that cottage cheese often couldn't be found in the shops. I grew up in the meagre years after the end of the Second World War when supplies were scarce.

@youless No, I don't make it at home. In Germany, you can buy loads of different kinds of cottage cheese, from 'no fat' to 'very fat', plain or with something added. It isn't expensive. It woldn't make sense to make my own.
