January 4 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a perfect day. I got it started at 3:30 this morning.
I'm thankful I got the office cleaned and vacuumed. It looks great and my friend noticed.
I'm thankful for those who showed up for my open house. My friend from Writer's Guild and the one who heads up Rock Painting, my new friend from Rock Painting and her husband, my sister and her husband and my brother and his wife. It was a nice group with lots of food.
I'm thankful I remembered to take pictures even if it was too late to get any with my friends, I did get a couple with my siblings. The battery was dying on the camera, so not all of them turned out good, but a couple did.
I'm thankful after they left I remembered I didn't have my medication for tomorrow. I hurried to Walgreens and found they didn't have it ready so I waited inside instead of holding up the line at the drive-through window. I had a little bit of a surprise - the co-pay went up. I don't know if that's a reflection of my changing to Medicare Advantage or the co-pays went up across the board.
I'm thankful I remembered before it got dark so I could get there and back without worrying about driving in the dark.
I'm thankful all the food is put away and chairs are put back where they belong. I'm also thankful my siblings took their fruit and veggie trays home with them. I have enough food to last me a few days. Most of the food was healthy with the exception of the cheese, crackers, and sausage and the cookies.
I'm thankful I can now relax. I've been on the go so much my leg joints are in a lot of pain and stiff. I just might be using the cane tomorrow if they're still as stiff.
That's it. This was a wonderful day with friends, siblings, and great conversation, some laughter and lots of good feelings. It's great when everyone gets along well with each other and there's no animosity.
How did your day go? Thanks for reading. The picture is me and my sister-in-law.

great pic! bummer 'bout'cher battery, hon. perhaps others snagged some pics'n'll share 'em with ya? what a great turnout :) so glad all showed'n 'd a great time. the hubs rx thingy went from no deductible to $350. dislike havin' to pay fer somethin' we don't use 's he takes no meds...but, ya get dinged the rest 'f yer life if'n ya aint got such. 'nother crooked government thingy. ya might look'n see if'n that singlecare 'd make those rx's cheaper fer ya. i'm purty certain walgreens 'ccepts such.
'twas a beaut 'f a day. got quite a bit done outdoors. the hubs 'tis given a bit 'f a scare. he's still not eatin', nor drinkin' fluids. been coughin' fer days 'n now's very shaky all o'er. no fever, but very worrisome. i fear he's gonna fall 's he'll not stay 'ndoors long. anyhow, i did get one 'f the horse tanks dumped 'n well scrubbed. 'twas the largest so 't least that 'tis out'ta the way fer 't least a week, dependin' 'pon the weather.
thankful fer a stunnin' northern skyline this eve. the sunset 'twas very pale 'til too dark to take a pic, but the north 'twas bathed'n deep blues 'n rich pinks.
i sure hope those knees 're better come morn, hon. sendin' healin' hugs ~

@just4him oh dear :( yepperz, all that standin' 'round the kitchen 'll sure get'cha. i'd a similar 'xperience gettin' thingies tended 't my sweet momma's 2 days'n a row. 'f course, the last i'd a sweet toddler'n my hip. which i had to keep switchin' hips. way out'ta practice fer that, lol. so glad 'twas better this morn, hon. hopefully all went well 't church.
yes ma'am, i'm worried. now he's tellin' me he'll take himself to the doc's tuesday. i know he'll not ask questions, nor discuss this past week with him. he's plannin' to stop 't the uncles'n the way home. to help with separatin' 'bout 350 cow/calf pairs. he's to be'n gate duty. i'm worried coz he's likely to get injured, those momma cows're not keen'n those babes gettin' taken, nor 're those calves keen 'bout bein' removed.
so glad ya were out 'n got to see such a wonder, ms. valerie! jest makes yer heart skip a beat, eh?

@crazyhorseladycx I hope he'll be safe. I knew there was some tenderness in you for him. Maybe not a lot, but some.
Church was good. No problems with standing and walking yesterday. Yes, it was a delightful sight.

Yesterday it wasn't the knees but the leg joints from all the standing and walking I've done over the past couple of days. It probably started with Christmas when I stood for as long as I did when I was making dinner at my son's. It hasn't taken much since then to get very tender in the joints. Thankfully, the knees have been good. I did use the cane for a little bit last night. This morning everything is good. We'll see how they hold up at church with the standing. I just might be sitting this morning more than standing.
I'm sorry your hubs still isn't eating or drinking. That's not good. I'm sure you're worried.
I'm glad the day was good and you got the big tank taken care of.
We had a beautiful sunset here too. It was cloudy all day until last night when I was at Walgreens in the drive-through and noticed the clouds were a beautiful pinkish-orange.

Seems like you've had a busy but enjoyable day. I'm glad you had chance to rest after it.
Today, I'm being a little lazy and still in bed at 9.40am. I am thankful for all the things I'm always thankful for. Yesterday, I didn't do a lot either. Had a bit of a lazy morning while youngest son was at his drama group. I then walked into town to pick up some birthday cards and a little shopping - I'm thankful that there wasn't a long queue at the checkouts! Had a message from eldest son to say he'd arrived back at his university town - I'm thankful that he arrived safely and that we'd been able to spend some time with him over Christmas.
I'm also thankful for my office job that I've had for two years. There is a lot I don't like about it but I earn enough that I can pick up shopping as we need it without having to scrape pennies together or go without things we need.
Today, I'll be getting some more writing done. I'm thankful to have the platform to showcase my articles, and I'm thankful for the small group of people helping me with my big project.

That's wonderful you have a lot to be thankful for. I'm glad your eldest arrived safely at the university and you had a good Christmas together. It's good you have a job, even if you don't like it very much. It pays the bills and takes care of your needs. That's important.
Thank you. It was a very good day yesterday.

Yes I do agree with you that there's a lot of enjoyment when everyone comes together for an event, gathering of acquaintances or in any special events as if there's no tomorrow. I have experienced that.
