Did you have a good childhood?

Good evening friends I had a terrible day today, but unfortunately this is nothing new. I invited my son to have lunch together, and my mom joined us. My father started chanting and insulting me and saying disgusting things that I listen to every day. My son said this is the reason he always eats alone and I no longer call him when we're all at the table. I feel terrible. I did not provide my child with a good childhood. After a couple of hours I went to his room and told him I was sorry and understood why he did not want to have lunch with us. I am full of anger, hatred of my father, and can not stand it anymore.

YOu have to get out Nevena. Yes I had a good childhood. I once apologized to my son for his childhood which probably wasn't the best. He said it was more good than bad though. I had nothing to apologize for.

@Nevena83 He knows that you cared enough to say something though. That counts for alot. Most people wouldn't.

@snowy22315 I wish he had a different childhood that he didn't have to watch the violence and listen to the ugly words.

I know, but I don't know where, I don't know how. It's nice to hear that people had a nice childhood. I don’t think my son will have anything nice to say about his childhood.

I am really sorry to hear this. Eat with your son and not with your parents, your mother does not move a finger to defend you, they do not deserve your attention. I was lucky, I had a good childhood.

@Nevena83 May be it is because she fears your father.

@LadyDuck No, she's not afraid of him. She has been taught from a young age that only men are respected and women are humiliated.

She's acting awful. She's always on his side, I can't understand why.

when ya let'cher heart 'n soul fill with hate, 't wins. he wins. i'm saddened that'cher son's grown seein'/hearin' this behavior. makes me worry 'bout his future'n how he treats women. but, that 'tis his choice to make, one cannot make 't fer him. yer best bet'd be to get far 'way from there. give yerself time to heal 'n move'n with yer life. i've nary a clue what changed with yer dad, 'tis none 'f my business. but i know that folks change 'n 'tis ugly.

I am so sorry, maybe you can just have dinner and lunch only with your son. I don't understand your father's behavior.

@nela13 I don't know, I'll never have an answer to that. We used to be very close, I loved him more than anything and then love turned into hate.

This is impossible because the room we eat is the main room in the house, the lounge and my parents are always there.

So sorry you have to tolerate this behavior. Take lots of deep breaths and keep going. This too shall pass,

I had a beautiful childhood, as long as I had the love of my father, but when that was gone, my life became hell.

Yes, the war we did not deserve. But I think God gives them back for that.
