Remember Rustie? How Do You Like Her Now?

Remember Rustie the rusty wire framed chicken I found at a garage sale last year? She has started her transformation and as you can see she will not be getting sanded down and painted. That will be too time consuming and extra time is something I don't have right now. Rustie is growing a new tail! I've been working on her a little bit at a time adding a feather here and there. I have a few more to stick in, but I wanted to show you the progress so far. I'm not sure I will even try to feather her all around, as this will be impossible to have the feather stick and hold with the way she is made. I could resort to glue but I don't think I really want to go that far. How do yo like dear old Rustie now? Photo: My own

I had to put her on the porch so the wind and rain wouldn't knock out all of her feathers...ha!

I'm just not sure how to get the feathers on the rest of her body to stay. No way to wedge them in without them falling out.

She is a work in progress. I have to figure out how to get feathers to stay in her body area. She seems to like her tail feathers though!
