Taal volcano erupted today. A famous and active volcano here in the Philippines. Around 2 to 3 hours away from us. It recently emitted ashes and a while as I am outside, I look up and some ashes fall on my face. We can also smell the a bit of sulfur already. Our Mayor already cancels the classes for students.

It is not erupting yet but it is spewing ashes already. That´s what I heard from my friend who lives in Calapan, across the Taal volcano. Sea or is it the ocean? between them and the volcano.

the taal now is erupting ashes. hopefully no lava but as per the report it can anytime soon due to the continuous magmatic activity

That’s scary since the ashes may still be hot and may affect you skin because of its sulfuric content. Be careful and avoid getting out and avoid using air conditioner since they say the ashes may be corrosive and affect it.

@rakski yeah that’s how big the eruption was. The wind is pushing northwards that is why ashes has reached that far.

@LadyDuck yes, true. That is one of the reason why the class is still suspended here . The ashes are very little now but the smell is still there

yes, the ashes have fallen even in the whole metro manila and north provinces. Roughly around 150km. The smell in the air is not good also.

it is a very complex volcano. most people thought it was the one with the small crater in the front but actually the one in the back is the real volcano
