Smokey and the Bandit was an American movie form 70’s and 80’s. The movies starred Burt Reynolds (Bandit), Sally Field, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason (Smokey). It was a very popular movie series. They still play these movies on television today. But, the real star of the movies was not a human. The real star of these movies was the basset hound Fred. After the release of Smokey and the Bandit there was a very high demand for basset hounds in the United States. Many dog owners to this day still name their hound dogs after the sweet and lovable Fred the basset hound. That includes myself.

Me too, he is so cute with those big floppy ears. It's the redneck in us, we love hounds.

I agree. Animals always outshine their human costars. I loved Smokey and the Bandit.

Isn't it that most of the movies are based on books or true-to-life stories?

Yes, you could say that. That would make people want to read books and watch movies.

That was a really funny entertaining movie full of movie stars. I agree, Fred stole the show from those celeberties. A natural born actor
