Cold Day, Hot Soup

Hello myLot, I hope you are all having a good day.
The weather here is finally chilly, and I love it! It doesn't get very cold here often so I want to enjoy it while I can. And what better way to enjoy the cold weather with hot soup.
It's nothing fancy, just a can of chicken noodle, but it warms me right up. I'm buttering a piece of toast now to dunk into my soupy feast. I think next week I'll buy ingredients for homemade soup, or perhaps a beef stew. I prefer to make it from scratch when I can, I just set it all in the crockpot and hours later I have a meal for a week
What is your favorite hot food to eat when you're cold?

mmm I've been craving Chinese food lately, sounds so good. Yes soup is always great for warming you up, so is hot cocoa (but that's more of a treat)

Wow, I like the title and the picture too. On a cold day, hot soup is the best.

@isweartokira you ate it at once huh. But in cold weather the hot soup would easily turn cold too.

I like a good soup with either cornbread or a sandwich. We had spaghetti yesterday, which made us all feel warm and hearty. I've been thinking of making Pepper Steak which is technically a stew type of dish.

oooh I didn't think about cornbread, it haven't had that in so long! Maybe I'll get cornbread when I go grocery shopping next weekend.
I had to look up pepper steak and I've had it but I never knew it was called that.

@isweartokira We have cornbread whenever I make pintos or beef stew.
I love pepper steak but it's one of those meals I don't make often since it takes so many steps to make.

Yesterday I found a serving of soup in my freezer. I had made it about a month earlier and froze one portion. It was really good and reminded me I need to make more soup and stews and freeze portions so I don't have to work super hard when I get home. That will be my Saturday project.

that's a great way to spend a saturday! I should make big batches of food and freeze them like that, too. I have always wanted to try meal prep but I'm never motivated enough

Hot soup is very good on a cold day. I hate cold. What is important not where the soup comes from but that it warms you up. I made ghoulash in my crockpot and it is very good. I do not have a special food I like to eat when it is cold out.
