Mangoes from my neighbour!

So, yesterday as I was leaving the house to go on my daily walk, I got a very pleasant surprise! I went to open the door but it felt like the handle was weighed down from the outside. Curious but slightly wary, I poked my head around the door and found a plastic carrier bag packed full of big, juicy mangoes! I looked around to see where they’d come from but it was deserted. Inside the bag was a note explaining all this and the lovely bagful of delights was from my neighbour. My neighbour is a very reserved man who keeps himself to himself. We occasionally stop for a chat but have no real interaction beyond that. So, for him to have done that was so very sweet. There are so many mangoes, we’ll just have to share them with other people on the complex because it’d be a shame to see them go to waste. Of course, we left him a note saying thank you very much :)

That mango is similar to the type of ours that we call Apple Mango.

@AkoPinay I only know the sweet, tangy ones. But I've heard my Indian friends talking about those green ones. I don't think I've seen those. Thanks for letting me know :)

@Lushlala there are different varieties of mangoes. Some are very sweet when ripe but extremely sour when still green. But some varieties are best eaten when green like what we call Indian Mango in the Philippines.
Delicious and perfect to eat at any time. Mango is a tropical fruit loved by everybody. It can be enjoyed just like a fruit, tasting its flavour and aroma.

What a kind thing for him to do. Perhaps he is just very shy.

I think he's more reserved than shy because when we stop to chat with him, he really comes out of his shell LOL

@JudyEv Yes, he must do because whenever we bump into each other, we can chat forever about all sorts on our doorsteps The funny thing is we live right next door to each other but have never visited each other. But I get that he's a very private man and likes it that way.

@Lushlala Today I got a deal. Five mangoes for $4. They come from Peru. I have to wait for them to ripen and I hope they will taste good.

No, he says he gets them from work. Apparently they have a few mango trees and he's allowed to grab some. Luckily, they're not so expensive here :) Sorry to hear they cost a pretty penny over there.
