Have you ever REGRETTED on one decision that you made?

Regret, it is one thing that we don’t want to happen later when one has to decide. However, with everything in life, we should have to decide whether to pursue a thing or to turn it down. I find it sometimes hard to decide for myself, especially if the decision that I am going to render has an uncertain effect or outcome. And it takes time for me to be able to decide. I cannot remember if I have ever regretted a major thing that I decided, however with minor things, perhaps I have a number of them. Things are not ideal, but it’s still bearable to handle.

I think they are part of the lessons you learn in life. But I think regret should not slow you down in life. It should help you instead to learn a lesson from it then pursue another course of action to get what you want or to correct the mistake that you made in your decision.

@ZedSmart You cannot avoid having those in your everyday life. But it should not make you feel that you lost or got defeated already. Regret is just temporary if you allow yourself find other ways to correct it or find a better choice out of it.

@rsa101 Of course that should be overcome. It's pointless if we're defeated by it. As it says, life must go on, you're smarter this time.

I am pretty sure that we all regret a few things we did (or did not) in life. I have a few things I regret I did.

@ZedSmart Most of us looking back wonder "what if I took a different decision?".

Working abroad is a tough decision if you already have a family of your own. You'll separated from your family. Although if you're pretty compensated when in terms of money, the amount of time that you may loss is incomparable.

@ZedSmart By that decision i lost financially. I would have been retired at this moment with good pension to support but I would have missed seeing the world. Would have missed working with persons of different nationalities. Overall that one decision had lot of plus and minos points. That's why i call it a decision of lifetime.

In my opinion regret is just a part of life. In order to us to learn we have to make mistakes and often we do regret those mistakes.

I agree. We may regret but mistakes make us grow.

So long as we learn from them and foster positive outcomes as a result of them, even our worst decisions can potentially become our best ones. Or so I have found.

There is one decision that I could have given more thought to, but it seemed right at the time.

@ZedSmart The outcome could have been better, but I guess everything has a purpose. It may have turned out the way it did even if I had made a better choice. What will be, will be.

I think it's just normal. Part of being human. As long as it does not cause a major setback.

We make decisions in all areas of our lives. And some bad and good. One thing is for sure, even we had bad decisions, for sure it taught us lesson or two that we can use to grow personally.

Most decisions, even bad ones, can have positive outcomes. I regret getting out of the Navy, but at the same time, there were positive outcomes—so it's not a TOTAL regret.
