More Fun Facts for Today

When I have a few minutes I like to read about random facts I did not know. Some are pretty cool. Wanted to share a few with you to see how many of these you already know about. 1. A dozen bodies were once found in Benjamin Franklin's basement. (They are assuming these skeletons were from an anatomy class.) 2. Water makes different pouring sounds depending on its temperature. (If you listen very closely, hot water and cold water sound slightly different when being poured. The heat changes the thickness of the water, which changes the pitch of the sound it makes when it's poured.) 3. Pro baseball once had women players. 4. Koalas have fingerprints. 5. Chinese police use geese squads. 6. The unicorn is the national animal of Scotland. (In Celtic mythology the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power. Tales of dominance and chivalry associated with the unicorn may be why it was chosen as Scotland’s national animal.)

@DesirousDreamer The story actually said it was his friend that had the skeletons for an anatomy class. But who really knows!

Koalas aren't the only non-humans with fingerprints: Close human relatives such as chimps and gorillas have them as well.

@LindaOHio I know and it breaks my heart so many were killed in the Australian fires. But many were rescued as well.

I didn't know any of them really, but I think I heard about women playing pro baseball during WWII. I think that is what the movie A League of Their Own was about.
