I haven’t spent so much time on here today as I’ve been trying to finish a book I started yesterday. It’s called ‘Big Little Lies’ by Liane Moriaty. Apparently it’s also a TV series. It tells the story of the interaction of parents at a school.
Not far into the story, it’s obvious that someone dies but the victim isn’t revealed until almost at the end of the book. At the end of most chapters, there are short comments from various minor characters about what they saw or heard and/or their opinions on various happenings at the school.
Once I got well into the book, I found it very hard to put down but it’s now finished. I’m trying to read books then put them aside to be donated – unless I find them sufficiently interesting to keep for a second reading.
The photo is of a group of school children at a Kathmandu school.

I'm glad you've seen the show. The book dealt with a few social issues - bullying, single mums, domestic violence. I don't know how true the series were to the book. We've had another terrible domestic violence incident in Australia and apparently after a major catastrophe like the bushfires or a tsunami, there is always a spike in these sorts of cases.

I think it's more than 5 years since I had bought a book. It's only the pocketbook comics that I was buying.

@JudyEv I buy from the used book store because new books are very expensive now.

@Alexandoy Our books have been expensive for some years now. There used to be some sort of rebate on them and they were much cheaper but that has been scrapped.

Sorry I haven't come across with that book. The title itself is interesting. It's contradictory between big and little. Why is it that lies are big and little?

@Nakitakona I would tell a white lie to spare someone's feelings.

@JudyEv Sorry I haven't gotten it for you're referring to a white lie. But sometimes white lies help. Do you agree?

@JohnRoberts I wonder if they expanded the book to cover two series or if they just came up with more problems for them.

@JudyEv I saw the 1st season. It was okay. Overrated. Good Nicole though.

I only know the series. I didn't know it was a book. I am done with my previous book so I might see if I can find that at the library. I don't have HBO which the series is on, but I have seen an episode or two.

The book was quite intriguing. I'm going to read the last few chapters again today as I was rushing last night to get it finished.

I've heard of the series but have never looked into watching it. I think I might enjoy the book better especially after you said it was good.
Cute picture of you and Vince with the children at the Kathmandu school.

We have a number of book-cases all full of books. We really need to get rid of some.
