Have you ever wondered how much you'd make if everyone got back to you?

I know not everyone is here for the money. I did join this site to earn extra cash. I didn't intend on making any friends. But I did! I grew fond of many people here that I am always excited to see what they are up to and love hearing from them on my own Discussions. But like I said, I'm also here for extra cash as I don't have a job. I KNOW and understand why some MyLotters do not reply back. But otherwise I'm wondering why as they are here so often making new Discussions and Responding to others. I did make a Discussion about this once before wondering if some MyLotters just click off their notifications with no intention on answering them. But sometimes I really do wonder, as much as I know we will not get rich here, I do wonder how much we are missing out on from those who don't have the intention of communicating back. Again, I KNOW some MyLotters have jobs or families or whatever they are required to do offline. But for those who are always here, makes me wonder how much quicker I and others could have made it to the payout amount if they just simply responded back. But not just the money! I am getting a bit tired of being asked questions or using my energy trying to help people with advice only to be ignored. Am I making sense? I'm not trying to sound ungrateful or like I'm not understanding. I'm just getting a bit annoyed nowadays with lack of communication especially when I'm trying to help those who make Discussions seeking advice and support. Sometimes I feel like I give way more than I get back. Maybe it's annoying me more today because there is so much going on but yeah I don't know. I'm starting to cut back on who I talk to on here since some bombard MyLotters with so many questions and comments only to rarely come back. What's the point of typing anything if you're not going to come back?

Having a couple of people who discuss with you every day back and forth like in a chat makes a LOT of difference. Some great users who really interact make you earn more than trying to comment on every discussion posted, if people do not come back to you.

A site like myLot works on the principle: I scratch your back and you scratch mine. Only yesterday I came across a member who asks the weirdest questions in their posts. I've looked at the titles of their posts and am convinced that this member asks only for the sake of asking and getting a reply which means the fraction of a cent. They are definitely not interested in a real discussion which becomes clear when one compares the number of posts and the number of replies and comments they have written. A member to avoid!

What should be the ratio of number of posts to number of replies. I seem to be having more than 1000 posts now.

@vandana7 I think there is no 'should'. Some members are more writers, others are more commenters. I belong to the first group. That's why I don't earn much here.

I always respond back, unless of course a particular comment doesn't require any response. But even then I will take the time to like the comment, just so the person knows I took the time to read what they wrote. I often get bombarded with notifications (I woke up to over 200 notifications this morning), but as I get time throughout the day, I will try to respond to each and every one of them. I don't do it because of the money (although it's a nice side effect), I do it because it's a courtesy to the person who took the time to comment on my discussion or respond to my comments.

@vandana7 I think it has more to do with the fact that I don't spend as much time here as I need to. I'm only on this site for a few minutes in the morning, and then sporadically throughout the day after that. If I'm lucky, I can squeeze in an hour at night. I just get behind in my notifications due to my time limits.

I always give a like on a comments and response which adds to earnings in a small way. The reason why I do not make additional responses is because i have nothing I have nothing else constructive to add. Most posts here do not elicit ongoing conversations.

@VivaLaDani13 I tend to have fun adding a comment here or there. If the person is feeling up to it, we extend it to a few more exchanges. I have the misfortune of being in fun mood most of the time, which I agree is a bad thing. But I don't poop in my posts. I mean, whoever comes to my posts gotta think ..OMG this one is such an intelligent myLotter.

Sometimes I also feel that I give more than I receive. Some of the people who ask for advice and support don't come back to their discussions. I know they are here because they start new discussions. I would feel bad if I did that. If people offer advice and support I don't want to leave their responses without comments. Not just because of the money, but because I want to show them that I appreciate that they took the time to comment and offer help.

@VivaLaDani13 Yes, I usually don't "blacklist" at the first post, but after some posts and no answers I try to remember them. Especially if I see that they have been around and answered other posts. I tend to suddenly disappear for some time myself, so if there's no activity that's something else.

@Torunn I understand what you mean as I tend to do the same. Exactly right! And that's what I mean. MyLotters who we can see they are on answering a lot of other posts while ignoring their own and / or hardly getting back to anyone in general.

@Torunn I can understand what you're saying. I think I give about 2-3 chances. And after that I don't feel like trying anymore because I feel like I've wasted my time. I am observant and can see if someone is busy or not doing well so I cut them some slack! But otherwise, I don't feel like giving my all for not reason anymore.

Though I am here almost every day, I have not posted my own discussions for a while. The main reason is I do not have time to be here for long. Even when I was quite active, I made the payout every three months. I used to console myself my topics do not interest many here. I like to go for deeper discussion topics that may not connect with many, but I do not want to go against what I really have passion for. I made sure, however, I responded back to every response I had received - siva

Everyday? That is decent...three months. I make it once in four or five months. My last month earning was merely 85 cents...so you know I have not been around for a while. But I visit the posts that many would have visited. Say hello to as many and then leave.

If it were the real world, I just might get offended . But since I've been on sites like this for years now, I see how it works - and I know for myself that I am not always able to get back to someone (especially if I am so late and the notifications fall off . . . I can't get back to everything as I won't remember all my interactions). Let me tell you this . . . if ever I don't get back to you and you really want me to respond to a particular comment you wrote, please do not hesitate to smack me on the head to remind me . . . or PM/tag me .

@VivaLaDani13 I noticed some people do certain things here that I wouldn't do - but I guess that is their choice. I still go to their posts for whatever reason . . . but I don't hear back anything except maybe a like - and I will rarely/never see them on my posts. But that's ok . . . there are plenty of other folks here to chat with . . . I can't expect everyone to be like us . It's always been a pleasure interacting with you whenever possible!!

I got back to mylot 10 days ago, I think. I have earned around 2 dollars since. It is not much, but I think if I will develop meaningful connections, I will earn more in time. But like you said, if it was only about money, I guess there wouldn't be many people active. Bubblews was great in order to earn money that help a lot. But the site had many problems and eventually, disappeared. As for people who don't come back, I guess they get lost in the notifications.

Sorry to know if had many issues. Well I know notifications disappear after 7 days but that's where I'm not understanding. People who I see are on every single day but don't answer their own Discussions and / or hardly comment back to others in general. I just don't get it. The only thing I can assume is they might look but just don't intend to reply ot maybe they cross off their notifications to not check at all.

Okay fourth time lucky will I FINALLY be able to post a comment on here without it saying NULL and not allowing it! P.S I wrote out a nice long response to this FOUR times and each time it didnt post it. -sigh. But in short I also need cash so I found this site. I know it doesnt make much but every little helps. I love to talk already give out advice in Facebook groups so figured hey even if its a small amount I am still getting paid for something i currently do for free. Why not ey? Also I LOVE talking so this seems great for me! I don't get why people don't respond surely it makes them more money to keep a conversation going through replies than to just post a discussion and get a few replies here and there. Surely making a discussion is taking more time for them than to just comment on others posts back and forth? I'm new here joined today so I dont know how it works. Does getting replies on a discussion pay out more then than simply replying to someone elses discussion? Either way they will get noticed as a rude person and people will stop responding eventually so it doesn't help them if they are doing it for money which i mean obviously they are if they dont want to talk to others. Some ppl are more writers than conversationalists sure but in that case a simple thank you or a like of a reply on their discussion would do the trick. Otherwise it just comes off as really rude.

@Erinnn41 Hey Erin! Welcome to MyLot! I really hope you have a good time as well as making extra cash for yourself. I'm so sorry you had trouble commenting. I hate when that happens. Just a little trick, if ever you're going to do a post or write a long comment, quickly copy everything you've typed just in case it doesn't submit properly. So then you don't have to type it all over again. So basically no one here knows the algorithm but I can tell you that whenever anyone interacts with you, whether it's them responding to your post, commenting or Liking your post / comment, you get money for it. But you don't get money for commenting / posting. Only when someone is interacting with you. So right now, once I finishing commenting to you here, you will get the money. I don't. But if you come back to Like my post and / or reply back. I will get money. I hope that makes sense. But still, I believe the more you put out there, the more people will interact with you. Can keep an eye out for those who don't really respond back. I don't mean that in a horrible way but some people just don't intend on getting back to you and for me personally, it's tiring. Like I said in my post pretty much. And you're exactly right, you said it very well yourself! I'm so happy to meet you and really hope to see more of you. I hope I was able to answer your question. If not then I know someone who will explain it so much better than I did.

@Erinnn41 That's good! And you're very welcome! Ah I see! Yeah I hate when sites are like that! Reminds me of when I had my first phone. A Nokia I think. But had a limit of letters per text which was a pain! Actually typing the letters was a b*tch too! I'm glad you're understanding this site. I will be checking out your posts soon too once I'm more caught up with my own notifications and caught up with the way I MyLot here. I can explain it another time, but to quickly sum it up for now, I have an OCD way that I MyLot. Exactly right! Your last paragraph! I agree 100%. That's exactly what I'm saying and how I feel.

@VivaLaDani13 Thank you I am sure I will have a good time so far I'm enjoying it :) Yes I did actually do that but then I thought the problem was I had written too much and maybe like twitter only shorter comments were allowed so I'd copied it in parts and then some where along the way all I was left with was the ending to my original comment. Ah yes I made a post asking about this yesterday it was my main introductory post but thank you for the explanation. Definitely agree there if people see you around commenting and engaging a lot you become a friendly face as such on the site and they are more likely to come say hi. Much more than the rude ones who never respond or like or anything. Yeah it's tiring not only because you know we are on here to make some extra cash as well as interact and I also don't have a job right now so do various online things to make money. So it's just like you've put time in and you give a genuine and helpful answer and it's just ugh when they don't respond because it feels wasted and rude. Especially if you can see they're making new posts daily but not responding to people.
