Hot weather versus corona virus

There were speculations last month that the corona virus with official name of COVID-19 has no match for the hot sun. There is logic in that because heat can definitely kill organisms. If you had seen one of my posts before, solarization is using the sun's rays to kill the fungus in the soil. This is not a fact though, just a speculation for now.

Solarization helps to kill "the germs" (!!!) on the surfaces, but the virus will be around for a while, no matter the weather.

@Alexandoy I prefer to use a sanitizer, just to play safe.

@LadyDuck isolation is the safest. We were talking if not going to the market as much as possible. We have to stock food for 3 days at least so going to the market will not be every day.

The surface will be cleansed but it's like the meat which looked cooked outside but raw inside.

It has been said several times by specialists from the medical research facilities in the Nordic countries that there's no proof that sunlight will kill the virus. If you want to kill it with heat, you probably want something that's hotter than normal sunlight.

@LadyDuck I've been reading about how viruses work. They have fairly simply structures, which is why it's easy to find out why soap is good. I thought maybe the outer membrane could melt if it's too warm, but that should for starters be well above body temperature. At least I suppose so, else it wouldn't survive in us at all. I'm pretty sure there's a scientist testing that right now though.

@Torunn You are correct, sun kills the germs, that is not exactly the same as THIS virus. May be a thousand degrees heat would kill them.

We shall know within a month. It is already summer and the sun is hot every day.

It is not true. My country is always at the 30 odds plus degrees but we are already having 212 people been infected

Here it is also more than 30 C every day. If the virus contamination suddenly stops then it might be true. But from 49 it became 52 and the latest count is 111 cases.

Even patients with respiratory diseases are even advised to expose themselves under the sunlight. Since corona virus attacks the respiratory system there is logic to it.

Maybe yes and maybe no. If within a month of hot summer will not affect the rising number of cases then that hot weather has nothing to do with the virus.

I think some of that speculation may come from the usual patterns we see with influenza. A lot of the spread during winter months is because people tend to spend more time indoors and in close contact with other people, so illnesses can spread more easily. That would be great if all it took to defeat it was a bit more time in the sun, though!

You may be right because I think the corona virus is similar to flu that it can be stymied by the isolation of the people. And the hot weather contributes to the immunity of the body against diseases.

I am also hoping for that since we are technically in summer season and we have lots of sunlight and heat will be very high in the coming days. But from what I heard from the news it is still in question still since there were cases happening in Africa and in the Middle East countries which are way hotter and sunnier than our place yet they have their own cases of infection.

@Alexandoy I think that is expected when you have the virus out loose in the general public already. Everyone is already a suspect of being a carrier or undiagnosed victims roaming around. By allowing everyone to go to their home provinces the risk becomes even more dangerous already.

@rsa101 you are right that everyone should stay put. No travel... period. Going home to their province will only aggravate the situation.

I wish it could be true as so far it is the hope for this virus to be gone. I think the tropical countries still have less cases than other countries.

@youless in a lockdown, the best to do is to stay put where you are. Traveling will only help to spread the virus.

But one that has been suggested. The media is not saying much about it, but they are having too much fun scaring the hell out of people. But historically, these things die off once it warms up. I don't think this will be any different.
