Why are people getting crazy about toilet paper?

It seems to be a general problem, at first I thought it was only in my country but people are getting crazy and buying all the toilet paper everywhere! I wonder if they don't have water at home?! I know toilet paper is important but what is the point of buying everything and make the supermarkets run out of it? Is this happening in your country as well?

@LadyDuck it is weird, there are otter things that are more essential and don't take so much space to store.

That is also my question. What is the relation of toilet paper with the corona virus?

I must have missed something because I have no idea what going on. All I know is that this week I will be using wipes.

It's a little hard to find here, probably because of all who bought too much and are hoarding it.

In fact, no one is interested in toilet paper here, the most salable from the pharmacy and food.

No our part of world everybody do not use toilet paper. There is also no shortage of anything here except for sanitizers.

That is great! The lack of sanitizers is understandable. Some people are really selfish and don't care if others will have what they need.

We had the same problem here. People are not acting good to others. One bunch of toilet roll should be suffice for a household for a while. However, people load their shopping cart with too many of those packs. We were not having enough toilet roll for a while. We were just lucky today. They restocked it up in walmart. So we just took one pack and came back. I was discussing with my husband that there should be a system in these retail shops to limit the purchase to a count to 1 per day per household. We should really have a member card system to track on the last purchase of these items atleast during such crisis.

@nela13 That's great. We can have some extra just in case if they're planning for any lockdown.

Yes, it is happening here. Last week there was news about a woman who wanted to buy more than a package of toilet paper. The cashier told her she was not allowed to buy more than 1 package. The customer got angry and sat on the food belt of the cashier and was shouting that her husband was a lawyer. She was out of her mind that the shop manager called the police. She was arrested and was not even able to buy that toilet paper. Crazy, isn´t it.

I don't understand as it doesn't make a sense. There are many things that are much more important than the toilet paper. Here since everything supplies well, so we are not in panic to buy something all together.
