I´m not sure if listening to news is good.

I have been hooked to the CNN channel for 2 days. And suddenly i feel that listening to the same news over and over again is depressing me.
I am aware that being optimistic is a very good way of fighting illness as it boosts our immune system. So I have decide to watch the CNN for an hour a day and return to my precious reruns on TV
I know what to do and I know how to take care of myself. This is part of it.
How are your ideas about this?

@porwest I agree. But there is a channel here called CNN Chile and there you can listen to the authorities and the president talking. The rest of the national channels also have them but between soap operas and the like.

@marguicha I get my news from multiple sources. But even doing that you really have to read between the lines. Very little of any news from any source is completely straight.

If you were to listen to the local news here its like listening to times back the past of Spain.
We can get fined just for going out not kidding here its for real at the moment so no news at the moment is good news for me.
A guy who dressed up as a dinosaur yesterday made me laugh a bit but I don´t know what happened to him I hope they let him off lightly but also hope he won´t do that again for his own sake.

@marguicha It's quiet here today, it's St.Joseph, it's a holiday and it's father's day. At least people stay at home and this is a good thing.

It is enough to watch news a couple of times a day and from a good source. The rest of the time we should have fun.

@JudyEv The worst part about the news is that they call people my age "old people" and other such names

I agree with your moderate use of the media. We do want to keep informed but why let it take over our life.

@marguicha I've been interested too so to understand some things because it can personally affect me but same here don't want to get all depressed over it. I really wanted 2020 to be a good year if possible. Thank goodness we can turn it off and something else on.

My mother just said she is going to stop reading her news feed on her phone. It's been making her depressed. I only read the headlines on Bing once a day,

Watching CNN no wonder you are depressed, they are the among the worst fear mongers out there. They only tell tidbits that they can manipulate to their own liking.

@Namelesss I have the BBC on my TV. But there is also a CNN Chile here with the latest national news. Now I need to know what the government is saying.

@marguicha BBC, Golden State Times. There are actually a number of good ones you just won't generally find them on television. Try Youtube

I've been watching CNN too. It's a good way to stay updated on the situation. Stay safe and healthy.

News now a days escalates panic and fear and you are right anxiety, stress and fear weakens the immune system and its not what you need these days. We need to be strong -physically, mentally, emotionally. But we also need to see the news to be aware. Just limit your exposure and sources of news and you'd be fine.
