Tuesday at the Childcare Course. "The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round."

Perth, Australia
March 19, 2020 9:14am CST
Even though I wasn't feeling so good and extremely exhausted from lack of sleep, I feel proud that I still managed to get up and go to class on both Tuesday and Wednesday. I managed to catch up on a lot of my work. I have some things to do before class next week but will get to that maybe during the weekend. On Tuesday, our classes are normally on the top floor but due to the walls being recently painted and no windows to air out the smell, the teacher was thinking about us going downstairs for class. But even then, the teacher almost considered us going home because the room down below is so small and we are trying to make it safe for everyone regarding this virus. She was worried about us being squished against each other. But all worked out and we all stayed. One of the things our teacher wanted us to do that day, was to get into groups and read to each other like you would to children. I teamed up with the girls I'm always sitting with. They are so cool! So funny and helpful! There have been a handful of times now where we will get the giggles during class. I love it! Anyway we each read books to each other but the book I picked up was "The Wheels On The Bus." Our teacher was walking around and she has to take photos of us for various things as proof we did them. But my group was the only one that got recorded. And it was because I got the girls to sing instead of just reading the book. I felt happy I managed to get the girls to do this and even more happy that the teacher was pleased with us doing so. It was so much fun that day as well as Wednesday. Both days were quite overwhelming but we still did what we could and had a good day. I know more happened but I can't remember now. But I just know I worked hard as well as having fun with the girls. There is still a chance our classes may be on hold though if the Coronavirus gets worse. All we can do is wait. Thank you kindly for reading.

I would have broke out into song too if I was in your group! I'm just silly like that! I'm so happy that you went to class both days (even though the classes should have been cancelled due to the virus), and I'm glad you had fun while there! Keep up the good work Dani, you're doing great!

@VivaLaDani13 How much longer do you have until the class is completed?

@moffittjc If the course keeps going at the normal schedule, then it finishes on the 9th of September. Which was always fine to me but not when something serious is going around.

@moffittjc Oh I bet you would have! Thank you so so much! A lot of us, if not all of us are really wanting this class to be postponed.

All classes have been cancelled here, but students are having lessons from home using their computers and tablets. I hope you can continue your classes as usual.

@VivaLaDani13 We are in lockdown here in Switzerland, we cannot even go grocery shopping right now. Until the 29th of March all those over 65 must not go inside stores. It is for our protection, but it is annoying.

@LadyDuck I can understand it being annoying for sure! I hope the feeling of being locked inside won't become like cabin fever / claustrophobic. I'm sorry that is happening!

@LadyDuck A lot of us including myself are hoping the class will be postponed. A lot of us aren't comfortable sitting in a small room with lots of students. And for me personally, I know it's only 2 days a week but I'm not comfortable riding trains that are packed with people.

I've sung that song with our kids. It was often on Playschool, probably way back before you were born! I'm glad you were able to get to the course. If you hadn't, you would have missed out on all that fun.

@JudyEv aww too cute! I have a video somewhere of my mum getting me and my brothers to sing it. Very catchy song lol Thank you kindly Judy. I do look forward to tomorrow but we still hope the class can be postponed. Do you think Australia will be put on lock down?

@JudyEv That is true. I know a lot has been closing and stricter rules are put into place. I'm still not understanding why schools aren't closing though.

You sound like you are really enjoying this course. You didn't sound like this with nail course thingy. I hope you ace this one while having fun all the while. If one plans to work he/she/they must enjoy the work first. Otherwise, he/she/.they will lose interest and enthusiasm. Regarding Coronavirus, I feel it will get worse before getting better. If you weren't sick and needed to have tests done, I would ask you to stay home. By the way, why are you all not under lockdown yet? You have three times more reported cases than us. We have 340 and you have 1,353. Are you not being advised about social distancing?

@Daljinder Thank you dudette and yeah you're completely right. I didn't really bond or talk to many people in the Nail Course like I am with these girls. I'm still getting to know them but they seem nice and just so bloody funny. I told them today that it's sometimes hard even glancing at them because I fear I may laugh. ( I mean in class, I don't want to be loud and look crazy or disrupt the class ) Good question! Our Prime Minister is being very slow. I swear, Perth is almost always the last to do things. Our PM will eventually cave I think. A lot of places have already closed so why not follow suit with the lock down! We are being advised about social distancing but I feel more could be down to help prevent this buuuut yeah....I don't know. It's stupid.

@Daljinder lol I'm too scared to call them "friends" yet. You know how I can be. No lockdown no ma'am. I know right! But speaking of, apparently Trump wants everyone out of lockdown and back to work etc around Easter. Too soon? We are at "Stage 2" right now with this. I think Stage 3 ( or 4 from what Trevor told me ) is complete lockdown. It's so weird to be experiencing these times.

@VivaLaDani13 That is probably the reason. It is good that you are making new friends or acquaintance (whichever you consider them). Besides, it is easier to find likeminded people in child care course than in the nail art technology course. India: 901 Australia: 3,573. No lockdown yet? I believe your PM is slower than Trump even. Imagine that!

It's seems there's more singing in the child care than the words of month. No wonder children sing oftenly in class

@Treborika Singing is just a nice way for children to be creative and to learn speaking / words / singing. There is always singing in childcare.

I am kind of surprised child care centers are open, but some are, as their parent's may have essential jobs.

@snowy22315 Our classes aren't taken inside a child care. We will be doing practical placement soon where we will work with children for work experience but for now, our studies are elsewhere.

@msdivkar A lot of us are wishing this could happen as we don't want to take a chance. But we can't do anything about it until our teacher gets the word that we need to postpone the class.

@VivaLaDani13 Things have moved on so quickly in the last few days. It's probably for the best that the course is postponed. The most important thing right now is that you keep yourself safe. When this has all blown over the course will still be there. Just make sure you are!

@WorDazza Thank you very kindly. To be honest, a lot of us want the class postponed as it's a small class with a bit over 20 people. And for me personally, I don't mind the travel otherwise but right now being squeezed in trains packed with people I don't know and don't know where they have been etc, would rather put the course on hold for awhile.

@WorDazza I completely agree with you! I went to class today but some of us left to go back home as the new rule is to not have a certain number of people in the room. It's annoying us that we can't just postpone it to be completely safe! It's quite stupid really. Many of us not only fear for our own health but don't wish to carry it to give it to our loved ones.

@Hannihar Nah not difficult getting there or back home. Just not comfortable sitting around people right now. There have been some cases of this virus where symptoms aren't shown / felt. Germs are so easily spread especially this virus and just because people in the class feel ok, I still fear any one of them including myself could be a carrier at any possible time. I'm also worried about getting it and spreading it to my family. Especially my dad and grandparents.

@VivaLaDani13 Is it hard to get there because of the virus? You are welcome. They should postpone it? You have a lot of transportation to take to get there and that is not good.
