My camias tree

I planted this tree in the vacant lot beside our property. When it started bearing fruits, the lot was bought so in respect to the new owner, all the plants there belong to him including all that I planted. It is good that the caretaker has given me permission to pick the fruits when I needed. The camias is a sour fruit that can be eaten with salt or can be used in cooking meat and fish soup.

The mango tree that I planted has many fruits and maybe can be harvested next week. I don't know if they would give me.

@Hannihar actually I can ask for the fruits from the caretaker because she is friendly and not selfish like the owner of the land. But maybe I will not. I can buy mangoes in the market anyway.

I would think it would be good in a spaghetti sauce with tomatoes.

I don't think that fruit fits in the spaghetti sauce. It is too sour.

From what I know, yes, it is native to our country. It is a relative of the star fruit which is also a tropical fruit.

@rappeter13 yes, I am happy to say that in our little garden I was able to raise small trees like banana, custard apple, star fruit, dragon fruit, soursop, mango, lemon, calamansi (small citrus plant) and srawberry, etc.

It is good to share whatever you have in excess. This morning, I picked some camias from the tree in the picture. I bought small fish and boiled it with the camias.

@Nevena83 waheehee, it is hard to hide from an invisible virus. I was hiding my face because I don't want people to say that I look like a virus, waheehee.

It's good you can pick the fruit. Can it be frozen for later?

I have no idea about freezing it. Some people dry it so it can be cooked some weeks after.
