A 15 years boy in my country has been arrested by the police and charged for damaging the reputation of the national president. He was posting insults to the president on his Facebook account. I think young people should be taught to respect elders and leaders. What is your view on the this?

I think both respect for elders and free speech should be taught.

You are right there has to be balance and young ones should know the responsibility that comes with freedom of speech.

@Wana1234 Often what young people say is just a refection of what they've heard adults around them say. I encourage young people to THINK by telling them both sides of a story.

@TheHorse It's important that they are given both sides of the story and taught to make sober judgements.

Respect for leaders in charge is a must even though the views of a political leaders are not always what I would agree with them. There is a saying about leaders in charge of a nation, business and other lines of work. The burden is on the leader if something goes wrong under their watch.

I think young people should be taught to avoid imprisonment, no matter what they do. To encourage them to be little stooges like the older citizens who allowed their country to be taken over by tyrants is unforgivable. Teach your children to fight back in ways which will make their success in their quest for freedom more fruitful. I'm very grateful I wasn't raised by a sycophant like you.
